Objective:
IFES Libya has a diverse program with activities carried out in collaboration with various partners in Libya and Tunisia. The Tunis-based Operations Intern will assist with logistical and administrative support of the IFES Libya office in Tunis. The Operations Intern will have the opportunity to gain experience in logistics, procurement, financial management and overall operations management.
Job Responsibilities:
The Operations Intern will provide operations support to IFES’ program in Tunis, Tunisia.
- Support the day-to-day operations of the IFES Libya office in Tunis;
- Navigate spreadsheets for data entry and filing
- Assist in building tracking systems for procurement, contracts and payment schedules;
- Audit Operations files to ensure consistency and completeness;
- Support and improve inventory management processes;
- Support development of a vendor database for all IFES Libya operations;
- Assist in the preparations and implementation of basic procurement transactions for project implementation including market research, drafting of solicitations and contracts.
- Support logistics preparations including hotel and air bookings, visa arrangements for local partners, staff, and international consultants when needed.
- Support collaboration with the IFES HQ and Tunis-based finance staff on financial reconciliations
- Assist in translating/editing/reviewing project related materials in both English and Arabic;
- Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree – ideally in operational management, business management, or similar;
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English as well as in Arabic and French;
- Demonstrated knowledge and/or interest in operations management;
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, working with different groups, partners and nationalities;
- Strong level of proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel.
