Ifrikya Center for Common Ground:

Ifrikya Center for Common Ground (ICCG) is a Tunisian peacebuilding NGO that aims to promote sustainable social cohesion in North African societies through conflict transformation. It is a newly established Tunisian organization that builds on the legacy and experience of the international peacebuilding NGO Search for Common Ground in Tunisia.

ICCG’s strategy for Tunisia includes promoting the culture of dialogue and diversity through the involvement of all parts of society while building their capacities. ICCG works in Tunisia to help members of Tunisian society to address conflicts and differences constructively through cooperation and dialogue. ICCG works across multiple channels, mainly with youth, CSOs, media actors, and local authorities to build the capacity of individuals and institutions to address challenges including differences and act on common points. ICCG’s main strategic objectives include: (i) promoting peace education; (ii) fostering non-violent social dialogue; (iii) enhancing participatory and inclusive governance; and (iv) transforming violent extremism.

ICCG is currently recruiting for the position of Finance & Admin Assistant  for Tunisia office.

  Your contribution

The Finance and Admin Assistant will serve as a member of the ICCG  team and will report to ICCG Executive Director. S/he will serve as the primary in-country finance focal point for ICCG staff and ensure proper financial management procedures in line with ICCG compliance protocols.

The roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate administrative and financial operations for ICCG and Program Team
  • Ensure all project-related financial transactions comply with ICCG internal policies as well as donor’s compliance regulations;
  • Process expense reports, reconcile accounts, and classify invoices for ICCG staff so as to effectively maintain an orderly and accurate filing;
  • Contribute to the monthly financial reporting and preparation of requests for payment.
  • Participate in daily/weekly scanning with expense vouchers.
  • Manage the ICCG team members’ cash supply, namely petty cash and remittances, for field activities, all in accordance with established procedures;
  • Contribute to the monitoring of the administrative, financial and accounting activities for the ICCG’s project;
  • Serve as a key liaison between the ICCG team and The Board of ICCG in addition to the Tunisia management team on review and approvals of finance and compliance processes;
  • Maintain a consistent and efficient filing and archiving system for accounting and administrative records for ICCG’s project;(Quickbooks and Sage)
  • Provide administrative assistance to ICCG’s Management Team.
  • Archiving Organization as per programs and ICCG policies.
  • Ensure the daily reporting of the financial situation.

 

As ToR cannot be exhaustive, the position holder may be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key duties

You are…

You meet the following qualifications:

Education

  • BS/BA or its international equivalent in accounting, administration, financial management, or business management.

Professional Experience

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar position with a national or international non-governmental organization or similar experience in a non-profit organization;
  • Strong understanding of financial management systems and processes; and
  • Excellent written and oral Arabic, French, and English.

Job Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent coordination, communication (verbal and written), and networking skills;
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, creativity, and enthusiasm while working in a fast-paced, often challenging environment with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to work through stringent deadlines with attention to detail, and coordinate and compile information from various sources;
  • Strong ability to multi-task and work independently;
  • Flexibility and capacity to adapt to evolving contexts; and
  • Team spirit and ability to collaborate with colleagues in an open and constructive way.

Please note: this position is open to Tunisian nationals only

Duration: initial 12-month contract (CDD ) with 2 months Probation period, extendable if successful. SFCG is looking for candidates who can start immediately.

 

  • Ifrikya Center for Common Ground is looking to fill this position with the right candidate as soon as possible. Only long-listed candidates will be invited for an initial phone interview. However, only those who make it to the short-list will be contacted for a written test and a final assessment interview. No questions will be answered via phone.
