Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung, a German non-profit organization striving to promote democracy, civil society, equality, and environmental justice is offering the position of an Assistant Program Coordinator for its activities in Tunisia and North Africa. The position should be filled by December 1st, 2016.
Under the guidance of the Program Coordinator, she/he will manage hbs program components with a focus on Democratic Transformation Processes. She/he will be based in Tunis and work in cooperation with civil society organizations, political parties and others in Tunisia and the region.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Core responsibility:
- Responsibility for the administrative planning, implementation and accounting of program activities
2. Common tasks:
- Responsibility for implementing collective undertakings of gender democracy and diversity in own field of work
3. External contacts and partner organizations:
- Maintaining contact – in consultation with the program coordinator – with national and international organizations relevant to the program
- Working with cooperation partners, in consultation with the program coordinator program concept and implementation, reporting
4. Contract management:
- Assisting the program coordinator with the administrative preparation of cooperation agreements; drafting and administrative handling of further contracts within the scope of the program
5. Reporting:
- Assisting the program coordinator with the preparation of substantive program reports, activity documentation and the project overview
6. Budget planning and control:
- Assisting the program coordinator with the preparation, control and adjustment of the program budget
7. Compliance:
- Responsibility for compliance in own field of activity with the statutory regulations as well as the internal regulations of the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung
8. Public relations:
- Preparation of PR articles
9. Other tasks:
- Assisting the program coordinator with the analysis of national and international socio-political developments relating to the Democracy and Transition program
- Involvement in developing and continually adapting the program concept
- Responsibility for planning, implementing and evaluating program components, in compliance with the guidelines of the HBS and in compliance with the laws and guidelines of the country or region
- Involvement in the public relations work for the program
The contract of employment will be based on local labor laws in Tunisia.
