EuroMed Rights is looking for a dynamic, dedicated, and experienced Financial Controller, who will support the CFO in the financial management of the organisation. The daily workplace for the Financial Controller is EuroMed Right’s office in Tunis, while the person will work most closely with the finance team across the three offices. In Tunis the controller joins a dynamic team with a high level of professionalism and friendship. The team has a multicultural atmosphere with a lot of commitment to the team and the organization. A limited amount of travel to Brussels and Copenhagen offices is to be expected (up to 10 days a year)

Tasks and assignments

Financial Controller will work, under the supervision of, and, according to priorities set by the CFO, and will be responsible for:

Financial control and analysis:

  • Checking accuracy of the financial booking
  • Supporting development of the organisational annual budget.
  • Analysing deviations of actuals from budgeted costs
  • Participating in implementing controlling processes and procedures and updating the finance manual accordingly
  • Preparing liquidity forecasts and other management information
  • Supporting the development of the overall financial management and systems across the organizations
  • Preparation of various files for the auditors and coordination of annual and donor audit processes
  • Support controlling of operational budgets for the Tunis office, as well as the financial management of the Tunis office.

Project control:

  • Development of project budgets
  • Analysing deviations of actuals from budgeted costs
  • Liaison with budget holders – proactively and upon request
  • Financial project reporting for portfolio of projects, coordination of project audits
  • Ad hoc tasks delegated by the CFO
  • Back-up to Project Financial Controllers

Profile, skills and background

Business and/or auditing education with 3-7 years of relevant work experience as project controller or financial controller – preferably from NGO sector at international level. You are an excellent user of Microsoft Excel, comfortable with pivot tables and complex formulas. Experience with Power BI, Power Query or other similar software is a plus. You have knowledge of Dynamics NAV 2018. You are fluent in oral and written English and have strong French skills as well.

As a Person

You are adept at understanding complex financial situations and to put in place relevant financial structures and systems. You have great communication and interpersonal skills also among peers with different backgrounds. You have a positive and hands-on attitude and enjoy working in team.
