THE ORGANISATION:
Established in 1984 in the UK, Islamic Relief is an international NGO seeking to promote sustainable economic and social development by working with local communities through relief and development activities.
Islamic Relief provides support regardless of religion, ethnicity or gender and without expecting anything in return. Islamic Relief has been working in Tunisia since 2011, when we supported refugees fleeing violence in Libya as well as host Tunisian communities primarily as a response to the influx of refugees during the Libya Crisis. Since registering an office in Tunisia in 2012, Islamic Relief has set up and managed camps on the Tunisian border and provided humanitarian services to over 15,000. As well as supporting refugees Islamic Relief has implemented projects in health, water and sanitation, food security and education sectors as well as supporting capacity building of local associations
PURPOSE OF DEPARTMENT:
Responsible for day-to-day accounting functions and archiving financial documents with the IR financial guidelines.
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Will be working closely with program manager, logistic and procurement department and the country director

Overall purpose
Responsibilities and scope of duties
• To ensure the development of an efficient, clear and transparent Finance Department in Tunisia.
• Responsible for the creation, planning, coordination, day to day financial management, reporting and development of the IR Tunisia finance related operation.
Specific goals and related activities
KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for maintaining cash book and reconciling cash on daily basis
• Process and monitor cash advances, and ensure timely clearance
• Labelling and archiving financial transactions and paperwork in order
• Record project wise income and expenditure transactions on daily basis
• File all the Finance payment-supporting documents (hard and soft copies), ensuring they are complete, signed and filed in the proper location.
• Coordinate with line supervisor and logistics unit to make sure timely payment of regular office cost
• Perform other tasks assigned by line supervisor..
PERSON SPECIFICATION
It is essential that the post holder shows a good understanding and sympathy with the Islamic values and principles as well as commitment to Islamic Relief
Worldwide vision and mission.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance
2. The ability to work as a team.
3. High degree of communication skills, particularly attuned to working well with non-finance professionals
4. Strong knowledge of computer application specially, MS word, Excel, and Outlook
5. Ability to think strategically.
6. Experience working with INGOs.
7. Ability to adapt to new situations and needs.
8. Disposition of a team player.
9. To work under pressure and prioritize effectively.
