Position:
This position will support the Finance department’s management of accounting systems, policies, and procedures in compliance with accounting standards, and donor’s rules and regulations.
As part of an experienced finance team, the position will help coordinate daily financial activities through the duties outlined below.
Main Responsibilities:
The Finance Officer, under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, will carry out the following:
- Carries out payments steps, both bank and cash payments.
- Manage any approved bank withdrawals.
- Ensure to update cashbooks on a daily basis to reflect the actual status of existing cash count and bank balance in all currencies.
- Ensure all bank accounts statements are reconciled.
- Prepare monthly cash reconciliation and bank reconciliation report in due time.
- Ensure the financial transactions are authorized, recorded, filed with adequate supporting documentation, and maintained;
- Ensure all payments meet requirements of National Law and engage with authorities, tax advisors or other stakeholders to ensure tax requirements are met accordingly.
- Ensure all the paid invoices are stamped “PAID” and project stamp.
- Archiving all relevant documentation both, electronically and/or manually.
- Maintains the petty cash box, with all due accounting and security precautions.
- Process, consolidate, and execute per-diem requests for national and international staff.
- Coordination of due payments according to the Tunisian law for Tunisian national staff.
- Provide accounting information & financial data to the Accounting Manager.
- Provide support role in audits (internal and external) including preparation of documents for internal, external and donor audits), in the field office when necessary.
- Notify the Accounting Manager of any problems, concerns, feedback, or conflict of interest regarding financial matters.
- Provide a gap fill service for the financial management as required due to staff absence from leave or resignation.
- Perform other tasks assigned by immediate supervisor.
Qualification
- University degree in Financial Management, Economics (accounting/audit) or Business Administration, or related relevant fields.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with financial/accounting management of international donor projects.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Ability to propose solutions for cross-border administrative procedures related to financial management, including legal settings, audit, and control requirements.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office.Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office
