ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Monitor and review accounting and documentation for Tunisia projects to ensure compliance with donor requirements and Internews’ policies and procedures.
• Record incoming invoices in the Unit4 ERP financial system accurately and promptly.
• Prepare and review payment packages to ensure completeness and compliance.
• Maintain organized and accurate accounting documents, including a comprehensive payment tracker.
• Manage petty cash securely, ensuring accurate reconciliation for small financial transactions.
• Handle banking tasks such as deposits, collecting bank statements, and processing wire transfers while adhering to approval protocols.
• Communicate effectively with program management and team members, addressing financial inquiries and providing guidance as needed.
• Support the finance team in ensuring adherence to administrative requirements, donor regulations, and local laws, including labor laws for local staff.
• Provide support during the annual audit process to ensure accurate and timely completion.
• Update the projects’ BVAs with monthly actuals.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, financial operations, or a similar role.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
• Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Good command in English and French is required.
• Strong communication skills, proactive attitude, and a commitment to teamwork.
