Search in Tunisia 

Search for Common Ground (Search)’s mission in Tunisia is to promote the culture of dialogue and  diversity through the involvement of all parts of society while building their capacities. Search works in  Tunisia to help members of Tunisian society to address conflicts and differences constructively through  cooperation and dialogue. Search-Tunisia works across multiple channels, mainly with youth, CSOs,  media actors, security forces, and local authorities to build the capacity of individuals and institutions to  address challenges including differences and acting on common points. Through this approach and  partnerships, Search-Tunisia has four main strategic objectives: (i) Promoting Peace Education; (ii)  Fostering non-violent social dialogue; (iii) Enhancing participatory and inclusive governance; and (vi)  Transforming Violent Extremism in Tunisia. We are searching for… 

Search is currently recruiting for the position of Finance & Admin Assistant for the Tunisia office  Your contribution  

The Finance and Admin Assistant will serve as a member of the Search Finance and Admin team  and will report to Search-Tunisia’s Finance, Administration, Logistics, and HR Manager. S/he will  serve as a key finance focal point for Search-Tunisia staff and help ensure proper financial  management procedures in line with Search’s compliance protocols.  

The roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

  • Coordinate administrative and financial operations for Search-Tunisia’s Program Team  Ensure all project-related financial transactions comply with Search’s internal policies as well  as donor’s compliance regulations;  
  • Process expense reports, reconcile accounts, and classify invoices for Search-Tunisia staff so as  to effectively maintain orderly and accurate filing;  
  • Contribute to the monthly financial reporting and preparation of requests for payment.  Participate in daily/weekly scanning with expense vouchers. 
  • Manage the Search team members cash supply, namely petty cash and remittances, for field  activities, all in accordance with established procedures;  
  • Contribute to the monitoring of the administrative, financial and accounting activities of  Search’s projects;  
  • Serve as key liaison between Search team and senior Search-Tunisia management on  review and approvals of finance and compliance processes;  
  • Maintain a consistent and efficient filing and archiving system for accounting and administrative  records for Search’s projects;  
  • Provide administrative assistance to Search’s Finance, Administration, Logistics, and HR  Manager;  
  • Ensure the daily reporting on the financial situation.  

As ToRs cannot be exhaustive, the position holder may be required to undertake other duties that  are broadly in line with the above key duties.  

You are… 

You meet the following qualifications: 

Education  

  • BS/BA or its international equivalent in accounting, administration, financial management,  business management.  

Professional Experience  

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar position with a national or international non-profit  organization or similar experience in the private sector;  
  • Strong understanding of financial management systems and processes; and 
  • Excellent written and oral Arabic, English and French.  

Job Knowledge and Skills  

  • Excellent coordination, communication (verbal and written) and networking skills; 
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, creativity, and enthusiasm while working in a fast-paced, often  challenging environment with minimal supervision;  
  • Ability to work through stringent deadlines with attention to detail, and coordinate and compile  information from various sources;  
  • Strong ability to multi-task and work independently;  
  • Flexibility and capacity to adapt to evolving contexts; and  
  • Team spirit and ability to collaborate with colleagues in an open and constructive way
  • Please note: this position is open to Tunisian nationals only

Duration: initial 6-month contract (CDD) with a 2-month probation  period, extendable upon positive review of performance. Search is  looking for candidates who can start immediately.
