Context

WWF has been operating in Tunisia since 1994 and currently has established offices in Tunisia (WWF North Africa, WWF NA). The organization implements its conservation program across the North Africa region, working to protect natural ecosystems and wildlife, promote sustainable living, support policymakers, engage citizens in reducing their ecological footprint, and contribute to environmental education for youth.
Major Functions
As part of efforts to strengthen its Finance and Accounting team, WWF North Africa is recruiting an Accounting & Finance Intern to support the day-to-day financial operations and ensure proper management of financial transactions and documentation.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
1. Management of Incoming Funds
- Prepare and record the receipt of funds from international sources.
- Declare incoming funds to the Presidency of the Government and the Central Bank of Tunisia.
- Monitor and update records of received funds.
- Prepare payment requests in coordination with project administrators and the Finance & Accounting Director.
- Track and follow up on all payment requests.
2. Accounting Records Management
- Organize and manage both physical and electronic accounting archives.
3. Financial Operations Support
- Contribute to the preparation of supplier payments.
- Manage the petty cash fund.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and banking institutions.
- Participate in internal and external audits.
- Monitor project budgets under assigned responsibilities.
Working Relationships
- Works closely with the Finance team , Operations Team as well as the Conservation team.
- Externally, the intern may be in contact with service providers and external stakeholders such as banks.
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree (Master’s degree is a plus) in Finance, or Accounting .
- Preferred Minimum of 3 months of experience through internships, volunteer work, or professional roles within civil society or a related field.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a methodical approach.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Excellent written communication skills in arabic , french and english
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Eligible for SIVP Contract
