FHI 360 is seeking to hire a translator who will be able to attend different events as part of the ACEA Project (Collaborative Action for Artisanal Exports).

The collaboration with the provider will be within the framework of an agreement over the duration of a year during that can be renewed.

ACEA requires a translator who can type rapidly. The translator will be listening to discussions taking place in Arabic and French and translating them into English in real time. It is not necessary to capture every word, but to capture the essence of the conversation. The typed translations will appear on a large screen, allowing a small group of English-speaking participants to follow the discussion. This would require that the translator be able to type at least 40 word per minute, preferably faster (‘touch typist).

In addition to typing, there are some interactions where the translator would be called upon to translate from either English or French to colloquial Arabic (Tounsi).

ACEA intends to organize at least one event each two months in which translator must appear after receiving the order form, knowing that the majority of events will take place in the northwestern region of Tunisia. ACEA will be in charge of providing the transportation, accommodation and meals according to the requirements of the event (the duration of the event).

The meetings typically last for 7 hours, but with frequent breaks for refreshments, lunch and other activities. Active translation time during such meetings would average 3 hours.

Payment for each service will be made within a period not exceeding 15 days from the date of receipt of the invoice following the event.
