FHI 360 is currently recruiting for the position of Sustainability Advisor for the organization’s USAID Tunisia Resilience and Community Empowerment (TRACE)/ Ma3an program, which will increase the capacity of communities to withstand political, social, and economic stresses and shocks by achieving the objectives of: 1) strengthened community resilience, 2) mitigated community vulnerabilities, and 3) improved capacity of Tunisian partners to sustain and replicate the model. Ma3an will spur 30 of Tunisia’s most vulnerable communities to action and generate sustainable resources for development in areas that are vulnerable to instability and violent extremism (VE). Together with USAID/Tunisia’s programs in accountability, decentralization, and youth entrepreneurship (i.e., TADAEEM and Mashrou3i), Ma3an will consolidate democratic progress while fostering social cohesion in target areas.

Job Summary

The Sustainability Advisor will work in close coordination with the program team, technical team and the ME&L team, to design, implement and maintain community sustainability plan within Ma3an selected communities and ensure continuous support to the Community Resilience Committees. S/he will report to the Sustainability, Partnership and Social Inclusion Manager.

Position Responsibilities0

  • Work with the Sustainability, Partnership and Social Inclusion Manager to ensure the quality implementation sustainability plans within the selected communities;
  • Collaborate with the technical team in the adaptation of the sustainability workshop model for Ma3an communities, as needed;
  • Coordinate with Ma3an regional offices (Tunis, Sidi Bouzid, Kef, Kasserine and Medenine) in the organization of the sustainability workshops of the selected Ma3an communities;
  • Coordinate with program, technical and ME&L teams in conducting needs assessment conversations with the Community resilience committees (CRCs) of the new Ma3an communities;
  • Develop and draft the needs assessment reports related to the CRCs of the new Ma3an communities;
  • Coordinate with the technical team in providing technical assistance to the CRC members;
  • Follow up and support the CRC in the development and implementation of the sustainability plan;
  • Assist in the facilitation of roundtables, workshops and trainings of Ma3an community resilience training activities and events;
  • Assist in drafting the reports of workshops and trainings of Ma3an community resilience training activities and events;
  • Support the local partners and ME&L team in the analysis of youth mapping results;
  • Support Regional Program Managers, grants team and local partners in recruiting, training and supporting youth mappers in the community level (CYM);
  • Support the mapping to action planning and community resilience development projects (CSAP).

Critères d'éligibilité

  • BS/BA or its international equivalent in conflict mitigation, youth development, international relations, social sciences, or a related field; Master's Degree preferred;
  • A minimum of Five (5) years professional experience on donor-funded programs related to community development, youth engagement, local governance, or civil society strengthening projects;
  • Experience with USAID rules and regulations and experience working in an international NGO environment highly desirable;
  • Experience working with youth at the community level;
  • Familiarity with CBD, Do No Harm/ conflict sensitivity, and PYD approaches;
  • Experience working on Capacity Building of CSOs;
  • Excellent Facilitation and training Skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent English and Arabic writing skills;
  • Fluent in oral Arabic and English.
