Context: 

The MEPI Alumni Connection supports community leaders from across the Middle East and North Africa to strengthen their networks, collaborate on leadership initiatives, and develop their skills in order to contribute to their communities. Through activities such as organizing networking and collaborative events, implementing community initiatives, and connecting with mentors and like-minded professionals, alumni of US-Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) programs deepen their ability to create bridges between communities and contribute to a more viable future. The program is implemented by World Learning and supported by two partners TAMSS in Tunisia and Arcenciel in Lebanon.

Programme Presentation:

Our program is in partnership with World Learning, which works globally to enhance the capacity and commitment of individuals, institutions, and communities to create a more peaceful and just world through education, sustainable development, and exchange and funded by MEPI.

TAMSS will be in charge of training supporting and coaching MEPI Alumni in creating and consolidating social enterprises across the MENA region among other networking and connecting activities.

TAMSS presentation:

The Tunisian Association for Management and Social Stability, TAMSS, active in the field for more than 17 years, is an association that contributes to the regional development of Tunisia through the economic and social integration of women and young people by strengthening their intellectual, managerial and financial autonomy as well as their active participation as citizens.

Mission :

Under the responsibility of the Deputy Director, the Entrepreneurship Director and the Project Manager, the expert will be part of the program implementation. She /He will be responsible of insuring training and coaching session offered to MEPI Alumni in the MENA region.

She/He is required to carry out the following tasks:

  • Propose a timeline for the coaching sessions for each entrepreneur;
  • Ensure a briefing/preparation session with the project team and adapt the methodology to the project context;
  • Provide individualized support for existing and aspiring entrepreneurs residing in one of the countries targeted by the project, namely the countries of the MENA region, to help them in the process of preparing for the launch of their social enterprise: Constitution and creation, operational communication, finance and management of social enterprises.
  • Provide training sessions on social entrepreneurship, Fundraising of social projects, Marketing and communications, Branding of social enterprises, etc.
  • Report project concerns/questions/requests/challenges in a responsive and timely manner;
  • Record training sessions in digital format; 
  • Participate in the production of MOOC; 
  • Participate in regular project team meetings.

Deliverables:

The expert must provide the following deliverables:

  • Provide an individualized action plan for each entrepreneur; 
  • Provide a coaching sheet/summary after each online meeting;
  • Submit a coaching report after completion of coaching sessions for each alumni;
  • Provide a final report (narrative / photos) and accompanying sheets with the participant satisfaction evaluation no later than 7 days after the mission

Areas of expertise required: 

  • Mastery of the social and solidarity economy;
  • Mastery of social entrepreneurship;
  • Knowledge of the economic/financial context of the MENA zone;
  • Mastery of corporate governance and management of SMEs;
  • Expertise in  providing Support for MSMEs (at least 3 years);
  • Human resources management (diagnosis of recruitment needs, etc.)
  • Business development (access to markets, etc.)
  • Marketing (market positioning, branding, customer acquisition and retention, digital marketing, etc.)
  • IT (digitalization of services, diagnosis of solution deployment needs, development, etc.)
  • Finances (diagnosis of financing needs and preparation for fundraising)

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) in management, administration or equivalent;

Area of Expertise/Professional Experience:

  • Experience of at least five (5) years in entrepreneurship field and project management;
  • Three (3) or more of practical experience in coaching and support of social entrepreneurs or social enterprise.
  • Five (5) or more years of related practical experience as a trainer/facilitator of building capacities sessions based on interactive techniques
  • Qualified and solid experience in developing business plans.
  • Mastery of social entrepreneurship and the auto-entrepreneur status
  • Fluency in Arabic and English speaking, writing, and reading is required. Fluency in French is preferred
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Positive and constructive energy and attitude
  • Demonstrated research, analytic, and writing skills. 
  • Knowledge of Middle East and North Africa economic context and political dynamics is an asset.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Word, MS Outlook, and MS Excel is required
  • Have proven and successful experience in similar missions.
