Scope of Work
FHI 360 is implementing the Department of State Collaborative Action for Handicraft Exports (ACEA) project in Tunisia. In partnership with the National Office of Handicrafts (ONAT), the goal of this project is to foster more competitive handicraft and inclusive tourism value chains in Tunisia, leading to long-term sustainable economic growth, increased exports, and increased employment.
This goal would be achieved through a technical support to three handicrafts value chains, including the initiatives of three clusters:
· Wikipam, Aromatic & Medicinal plants – Northwest of Tunisia
· Oleart, Olive wood accessories & art – Sfax and Sidibouzid
· Amazigh Weaving – Toujane, Gabes.
Handicrafts in Tunisia are linked to culture, heritage, and natural resources. As part of its vision to empower local communities and contribute to sustainable economic growth, ACEA project is developing an umbrella of thematic related to the handicraft industry.
The ACEA project is offering the opportunity for masters’ student, seeking to conduct their end of studies professional project in the field of local sustainable tourism development, to experience working life during a three-month internship.
The students will be in charge of answering a problem specific to local sustainable tourism.
The student will work on the development and implementation of sustainable tourism products for the clusters of Wikipam (Northwest) and Amazigh Weaving (Toujane, and/or the communication strategy related.
