Job Summary

Democracy International is seeking to hire a Driver for the Civil Society Activity in Tunisia. This position is
open to Tunisian nationals. Based out of the Tunis office, the Driver will provide safe transport services for
project staff throughout Tunisia in support of authorized project activities. They will also provide limited
logistical support for routine project activities.
The Civil Society Activity aims to empower Tunisian citizens to act and advocate for specific issues and effect
change at the local, regional, and national level in advancing Tunisia’s development and build the legitimacy and
sustainability of the civil society sector.

Responsibilities

• Operate project vehicles as assigned by supervisor;
• Maintain vehicle log-sheets in accordance with project policies/regulations;
• Monitor vehicle conditions regularly and report vehicle issues and needs to project management;
• Adhere to all safety and communication protocols as advised by project and supervisor;
• Keep the vehicle and vehicle related equipment ready, clean, and ready for use at all times;
• Map out driving routes to ensure a timely arrival;
• Inspect the vehicles and equipment frequently; and
• Maintain a high degree of professionalism and quality service.

Required Qualifications, Skills, & Experience

• Minimum of a High School Diploma
• A valid driver’s license
• A clean driving record with no traffic violations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Basic proficiency in writing in English
• Ability to speak in basic English and French preferred

Reporting Requirements

The Driver will report to the Project Manager, Security Manager and/or Operations Director as needed.
