Title: Driver 

Length of Assignment: Long-Term 

Reports to: Operations Manager  

1. BACKGROUND  

The purpose of the USAID-funded Visit Tunisia project is to enhance Tunisia’s tourism  potential, with the goal of generating revenue and jobs, particularly for women and youth, and for  populations in underserved regions of the country. Through this activity, Visit Tunisia project seeks  to contribute to Tunisia’s growth and development to offset the negative economic impact of the  coronavirus crisis, contributing to the following high-level results:

1. Increase in the number of  tourists.

2. Increase in the number of jobs in the tourism sector.

3. Increase in tourism revenue.

4.  Increase in private sector-led investment and innovation in the tourism sector.  

Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Operations Manager, the Driver provides  reliable and safe driving and logistics services to the Visit Tunisia staff and visitors ensuring  highest standards of discretion and integrity, sense of responsibility, excellent knowledge of  protocol and security issues. He/she demonstrates a client-oriented approach, courtesy, tact and  ability to work with people of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds. The Driver shall  apply any guidance from the Security Manager with close coordination with his direct  supervisor. 

2. DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES  :

• Drive assigned project vehicle daily and as requested or pre-approved by the supervisor. Trips  include trips within Tunisia Cities and in the greater Tunis, and other driving assignments as  required and this is during all calendar weekly days. 
• Ensure the cleanliness of assigned vehicles  
• Check assigned vehicle weekly to ensure that it is operational and safe to drive. On a weekly  basis, check the oil, radiator, fan belt, brake fluid, wipers, tires and signals etc… and share  security check form with the Supervisor and with the security manager at the vehicle security  check-in.  
• Initiate and supervise any repairs require on assigned vehicles with supervisor approval  
• Initiate and supervise any periodic maintenance of assigned project vehicles, including oil  and filter changes, tune-ups, and professional cleaning with supervisor approval 
• Fulfil project reporting requirements and maintain records, including vehicle logs (annexeII),  vehicle routing and vehicle condition log  
• The vehicle logs (annexeII), should be signed by all passengers and submitted by end of each  month to the supervisor for validation and approval. The supervisor reserve the right to check  the vehicle log at any time during the daily service. 
• Prepare for trips to the regions and the greater Tunis in advance by locating the planned  destinations and the most secure route and coordinate closely with the security manager when  preparing trip  
• Ensures that all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken in case of  involvement in accidents. 
• Ensure delivery of documents and administrative packages to destination following  instructions of the supervisor. 
• Ensure petty cash purchases and transportation of office supplies following requests and  instructions of the supervisor. 
• Perform any other tasks requested by supervisor  

3. REPORTING:  

The driver will report to the operations Manager.  

4. LEVEL OF EFFORT AND PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE 

This position is long-term, on a full-time basis. 

5. LOCATION OF THE ASSIGNMENT  

This assignment will be based in Tunis, Tunisia with potential travel to regional locations pending  project needs. The office maintains a five-day work week. Overtime is not authorized.
