Context
International IDEA has been present in the North Africa and West Asia region since early 2011, and has worked extensively with parliaments, election management bodies, constituent drafting assemblies, women, youth, academics, and experts.
International IDEA has been a global leader in producing publications, knowledge products, interactive digital tools and databases on issues including but not limited to parliamentary strengthening, constitution-building, capacity-development, assistance with strategic planning, and communication and civil society engagement. The Institute has built and maintained professional networks within these areas over many years.
Furthermore, International IDEA has significant experience of providing advisory services and in implementing long-term capacity development projects across six continents. International IDEA has developed particular expertise in working in conflict settings and in the Arab region (including efforts to support processes in Yemen, Tunisia, Libya, Sudan, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Palestine and more).
The Driver and Logistics Assistant provides driving and logistical support, assists with the preparation of correspondence, and other office errands.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Carries out driving missions as assigned by the Finance and Administrative Manager or the Head of Programme. Ensures passenger safety and adherence to traffic rules and regulations
- Takes responsibility for the maintenance of the vehicle. Ensurespaperwork including insurance is up to date, and the availability of a first aid kit and necessary spare parts;
- Maintains all applicable vehicle and driving records in line with established time and reporting requirements;
- Regularly checks and collects post, and assists in delivering messages and parcels to and from local authorities, government offices and customs as required;
- Contributes to the distribution of incoming e-mails, invitations and newspapers throughout the office;
- Assists with meetings preparation including physical setting-up of meeting rooms, catering, equipment, stationery and printing;
- Assists with events organization as necessary
- Carries out and assists with the different inventories required by International IDEA.

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree is required.
- A minimum of two (2) years’ experience within a similar role, in the provision of driver services with a safe driving record is required;
- Valid driving license is essential, category B, (Car, Jeep, Delivery Van) is preferred;
- Military or security background is an advantage; and
- Experience of working in an international context, e.g., in an Intergovernmental Organization or Non-Governmental Organisation is an advantage.
- Fluency in written and oral English and Arabic or French is required.
Terms of Contract:
- Local Post.
- Fixed term appointment for two (2) year.
- Remuneration – TND 1580 gross per month
Please note as this is a local post, International IDEA will bear no costs relating to relocation of the selected candidate to the duty station. This position is open to those legally authorized to live and work in Tunisia for the duration of the contract. International IDEA is not able to support work permit applications.
