Democracy Reporting International (DRI) is a non-partisan, independent, not-for-profit organisation registered in Berlin. DRI promotes political participation of citizens, accountability of state bodies and the development of democratic institutions world-wide.
DRI has worked in partnership with Tunisian civil society organisations (CSOs) and political actors since the launching of its programme in Tunisia in February 2011.
DRI’s programme currently works on four main themes:
The programme consists of two projects: “Supporting Civil Society Organisations and Political Actors in Elections and Institutional Reforms to Strengthen the Democratic Process in Tunisia (ENPI/2013/318-431)”, funded by the European Union and the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office, and “Accompanying Tunisia’s Democratic Transition III (631120, No. 81024849)”, funded by the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. DRI’s work in Tunisia is implemented by seven local staff and led by an international Country Director. DRI is currently aiming to replace its outgoing Country Director, from October 2014.
The Country Director will manage DRI’s office and programme in Tunisia. In particular, he/she will be responsible for the following:
