Position Title: Programme Unit Intern Ukraine

Location: Berlin Headquarters

Duration: Six months

Background

Democracy Reporting International (DRI) is a non-partisan, independent, not-for-profit organisation registered in Berlin. Democracy Reporting International promotes political participation of citizens, accountability of state bodies and the development of democratic institutions world-wide. Democracy Reporting International is currently recruiting an intern for its Berlin headquarters to support DRI’s Programme Unit.

Tasks include:

• Support the Director of Programmes in all aspects of the management of projects in Ukraine, and in other countries as needed, possibly including the analysis of draft laws;
• Support the organisation’s outreach efforts related to Ukraine, and to other countries as needed: Contribute to DRI’s website, contribute to DRIs facebook and twitter accounts;
• Conduct research on current and political affairs in Ukraine and other programme countries with a particular focus on constitutions, political reform and democratisation;
• Support the organisation and implementation of expert missions as well as workshops and DRI events in Ukraine and elsewhere as needed;
• Assist in maintaining project files, databases and other resources;
• Other duties as required.

The internship is full time, starting August 2014 and with a duration of six months.
