ABOUT DJ ACADEMY FOR GIRLS:DJ Academy for Girls is an opportunity to join a movement of women with active roles in the Electronic Music industry. We create an environment that supports collaboration, diversity, and inclusion. Our goal is amplifying female, trans, and non-binary voices in EM music. Through our training, we introduce you to the world of DJing and Electronic Music as a whole.

What we do:
-We equip our talents through career development training, DJing techniques, and thematic masterclasses.
-We build national and international networks to provide networking and career expansion opportunities for our DJ talents.
-We boost female EM artists’ visibility and booking to secure them a decent income
-We advocate for the cultural minorities’ presence in the electronic scene in the MENA region.

We aim to dismantle the stereotypes surrounding women and non-binary people in the male-dominated electronic music industry and prepare the next generation of female DJs. Our ultimate goal is to pave the way for more diversity and equality in the EM scene.

ABOUT THE NEXT COHORT:

-Eligibility:
>>Amateur Dj, professional Dj, or any person wishing to master the techniques of DJ mixing

>>Training Type:
– The training consists of several levels: Initiation, Improvement, Professional

-Training Timeline:
>> The DJ Academy for Girls cohort will last for three months, where we host a 3-hour DJing workshop every weekend.

-Starting Date:
>> 19 SEPTEMBER 2020: Kick-off initiation DJing training with the professional DJ: Fouchika Junior.
>>Subscription Deadline: 15/09/2020

-Training Program:
•Wiring and hardware introduction
•Rhythm and Tempo
•Learning to count time
• The notion of speed (BPM)
• Learning to count measurements
• Deciphering a piece of music
•Learn to recognize the cycles of a musical piece
•Using the crossfader and faders
• Producing the first track with 2 music pieces with the same speed (BPM)
•The “Play” phase

-Training Goals:
– Master the techniques of mixing at tempo
– How to manage a playlist
– Know how to build a set under the right circumstances
various (club, private party, festival…)
– To master all the Dj equipment

$$ Fees: 80TND per month(12 hours of training)
