We are looking for a highly qualified IT and Logistics Officer to join our DRC/DDG team in Tunisia.

Who are we?

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental, non-profit organisation founded in 1956 that works in more than 30 countries throughout the world. DRC fulfils its mandate by providing direct assistance to conflict-affected and vulnerable populations – refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs) and host communities in the conflict areas of the world; and by advocating on behalf of conflict-affected populations internationally. DRC has been working in the Maghreb region, including Libya, Tunisia and Algeria since 2011.

About the job

Under the supervision of the Procurement and Logistics Manager Maghreb, the IT & Logistics officer is responsible for the procurement operations, such as expediting purchases, maintaining communications with vendors, receiving and verifying the accuracy of shipments, stocking shelves, and auditing documentation. As delegated and instructed by his line manager.

Also, he/she is responsible to drive the use of technology in the organization, provide effective IT systems, help develop and implement IT standards and policies, and provide technology support and solutions to meet the needs of the organization.

The Logistics & IT officer must be a detail-oriented person with a degree in business or extensive experience in procurement

Duties and Responsibilities

Logistics

Fleet Management

  • Manage the Driver and ensure that all DRC Tunis vehicles are regularly serviced.
  • Ensure proper recording on fleet management (e.g. log books, fuel consumption etc) according to DRC’s Logistics Reporting policy
  • Prepare the monthly vehicle reports for the Tunis based vehicles and ensure that you receive the monthly reports from other locations to be shared with the Procurement and Logistics Manager

Procurement

  • Maintain a high-quality procurement system, which is accountable, transparent and compliant with DRC’s Procurement Policy and donor requirements.
  • Receive all PRs, number them ensuring they have proper Project Numbers and Budget Lines and ensure they are recorded in the procurement tracking sheet.
  • Collect quotations as required
  • Follow DRC procurement procedures to purchase what has been requested for.
  • Update and follow up PRs in the procurement tracking sheet for Tunis office according the DRC procurement policy
  • To maintain and update the supplier database.
  • Ensure that the filing system to record and archive all procurements is rigorously maintained.
  • Ensure that on a quarterly basis, the Suppliers Data and Price lists for Maghreb are shared with Procurement and Logistics Manager

IT Tasks

  • Provide IT support to the program and support staff as required.
  • Provide IT assistance, hardware and software troubleshooting to staff and infrastructure, including servers.
  • Setup and administrate Internet, local area network and servers, to include administration of DRC proprietary accounting software.
  • Format and install drivers (including printer\scanner drivers) and relevant software for new laptops and desktops, making sure only authentic software is installed, in coordination with the procurement department.
  • Service and maintain printers and other IT hardware.
  • Advise on the usage of internet and ensure that IT regulations are followed

About you

To be successful in this role you must have a university degree in information technology or related area and at Minimum of 2 years’ relevant working experience.

We offer

DRC will offer the successful applicant a5 months contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from 17/07/2017 and be willing and able to work in Tunis, Tunisia.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Expatriates; please refer to www.drc.ngo under Vacancies. This position will be placed at levelD1.

Critères d'éligibilité

  • Extensive experience with Microsoft programs (Excel).
  • Experience in setting up servers, routers and networks.
  • Experience with maintaining printers and other IT hardware.
  • Personal commitment, flexibility, efficiency;
  • Well-developed organizational and planning skills;
  • Self-motivation and strong team spirit;
  • Fluency in oral and written English and French is essential. English an asset.
  • Must be a Tunisian national.
  • An understanding of and commitment to DRC’s mission and values. Prior experience an organization/NGO with humanitarian goals is an advantage
  • . Willingness to travel to field locations throughout Tunisia where DRC/DDG works from time to time.
