The Workforce Development Technical Lead will take a lead role in improving the quality and relevance of education, training, and job intermediation services, and employment support offered by target workforce development institutions. Curriculum development support to workforce development institutions and their instructors will include developing and strengthening courses in the target sectors, job profiles, and skills, as required. The Workforce Development Technical Lead should expect to manage results, including but not limited to:
S/he will also work with workforce development institutions to improve and expand their service offerings—either through in-house improvements and/or through partnerships—to include job intermediation functions such as internships, job matching, job information, career counseling, mentoring, entrepreneurship support and other important follow-on support.
The Workforce Development Technical Lead will report to the Chief of Party.
In collaboration with GoT, develop a plan for achieving high priority curricula reforms and changes to legal/regulatory regime to support job growth;
Strengthen feedback mechanisms between private employers and educational institutions;
Sufficient public or private TVET and higher education institutions are established to provide effective job matching and career development services across the country;
Job placement services effectively link job seekers with appropriate jobs;
Higher education and TVET institutions provide technical training based on market demand; and
Tunisians, notably youth, are aware of the job related services being provided.
Identify major educational/workforce development skill shortfall areas and assist TVET and higher education institutions to develop new curricula to address gaps;
Report on educational metrics which emphasize employment and employability of graduates including a) percentage of graduates with a full time job 30, 60, 90, 180 and 365 days after graduation, and b) percentage of graduates employed in their area of study or similar area.
