Consultant for the development of a training, coaching and support curriculum for social entrepreneurs

Context: 

The MEPI Alumni Connection supports community leaders from across the Middle East and North Africa to strengthen their networks, collaborate on leadership initiatives, and develop their skills in order to contribute to their communities. Through activities such as organizing networking and collaborative events, implementing community initiatives, and connecting with mentors and like-minded professionals, alumni of US-Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) programs deepen their ability to create bridges between communities and contribute to a more viable future. The program is implemented by World Learning and supported by two partners TAMSS in Tunisia and Arcenciel in Lebanon.

Programme Presentation:

Our program is in partnership with World Learning, which works globally to enhance the capacity and commitment of individuals, institutions, and communities to create a more peaceful and just world through education, sustainable development, and exchange and funded by MEPI.

TAMSS will be in charge of training supporting and coaching MEPI Alumni in creating and consolidating social enterprises across the MENA region among other networking and connecting activities.

TAMSS presentation:

The Tunisian Association for Management and Social Stability, TAMSS, active in the field for more than 17 years, is an association that contributes to the regional development of Tunisia through the economic and social integration of women and young people by strengthening their intellectual, managerial and financial autonomy as well as their active participation as citizens.

Mission :

Under the responsibility of the TAMSS team, the consultant will be hired for a two (2) months mission from February to March 2023, in Tunis. 

She/He is required to carry out the following tasks:

  • Work with the project team to identify and analyse the needs and expectations of the program beneficiaries
  • Create /update a holistic training and coaching curriculum for beneficiaries starting from existing modules(diagnosis, skills development, training syllabus, etc.) on social entrepreneurship to be aligned with MENA social entrepreneurs needs;
  • Design a methodological guide for the process of evaluating the skills acquired by the beneficiaries of the program.

Deliverables:

The consultant must provide the following deliverables:

  • A note of understanding of the mission
  • A training and coaching curriculum in two (2) languages (Arabic and English) in a digital format.
  • A methodological guide relating to the identification of needs and the evaluation of skills acquired.
  • A final report of the mission whose deadlines will not exceed 10 days after the mission.

Areas of expertise required: 

  • Mastery of the social and solidarity economy
  • Mastery of social entrepreneurship
  • Mastery of the theme of the auto-entrepreneur
  • Knowledge of the economic/financial context of the MENA zone
  • Mastery of corporate governance and management of SMEs;
  • Support for MSMEs
  • Human resources management (diagnosis of recruitment needs, etc.)
  • Business development (access to markets, etc.)
  • Marketing (market positioning, branding, customer acquisition and retention, digital marketing, etc.)
  • IT (digitalization of services, diagnosis of solution deployment needs, development, etc.)
  • Finances (diagnosis of financing needs and preparation for fundraising)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred)
  • Five (5) or more years of related practical experience as a trainer/facilitator
  • Five (5) or more of related practical experience in coaching and support of social entrepreneurs or social enterprise.
  • Mastery of social entrepreneurship
  • Mastery of the theme of the auto-entrepreneur
  • Knowledge of Middle East and North Africa economic context and political dynamics,
  • Demonstrated project design, implementation, and monitoring, evaluation & learning experience.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated research, analytic, and writing skills. 
  • Fluency in Arabic and English speaking, writing, and reading is required. Fluency in French is strongly preferred
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Word, MS Outlook, and MS Excel is required
