About Amal Association for renal insufficiency in Medenine :

AMAL Association for renal insufficiency is a charitable association that supports patients suffering from kidney failure, whose number recorded in the Governorate of Medenine is increasing.

Action fields:

Area 1: Health care, psychological support for people with kidney failure

Area 2: Capacity building (Health, first Aid, project management, Leadership, Finance, protection, human development…)

Area 3: Social inclusion & cohesion, support and guidance for refugees, migrants and asylum seekers

Main activities are concentrated on: 

– Raising awareness and sensibilization about the kidney health issues 

– Psychological support to reduce the suffering of patients with kidney failure.

– Medical and psychological professional trainings

– Social inclusion, support and guidance for refugees, migrants, and asylum seekers

 – Medical caravans in Medenine including screening for chronic diseases.

– Defense of the rights of kidney patients and migrants, refugees and asylum seekers to get the needed quality of treatment as well as access to free health services.

Summary of Job

Under the project ‘’ The social and Professional integration of migrant, refugee and asylum seeker women victims of violence’’, funded by PNUD, the consultant will contribute to analyze the phenomenon of violence against women (migrants, refugees, asylum seekers and Tunisian in relation with foreign), and he/she will be responsible for collecting, analyzing data and producing a report include main results. 

Main tasks and Duties

• Coordination with Amal Association and CLS coordinators in Medenine (North &South)
• As a first step, providing a detailed methodology to Amal association. Implementation will start after having the confirmation (the methodology will be revised by the members of association and PNUD) 
•  Identifying the concerned stakeholders and selection of the participants for FGDs and KIIs as well as mobilizing them (preparatory meetings with stakeholders) 
• Creation of the tools for FGDs and KIIs (questionaries contextualized to the categories selected) 
• Translation of the tools (AR + EN + FR) 
• Data Collection (FGDs + transcription+ KIIs) 
• Analysis of the data collected and production of a draft report in English or French for review by the association 
• A final report in English or French includes:

• Table of contents 
• Abbreviations used
• Executive summary of methodology, limitations, key finding and lessons learned
• Methodology: Objectives, Data collection and analysis and limitation of the study
• Research finding, analysis, with associated data presented (should be structured around the main objectives/evaluation criteria and should cover all relevant indicators), including illustrated presentation within the report as appropriate 
• Appendices, which include detailed research instruments, list of interviewees, participants of FGDs

• Realization of Testimonial Videos with people of concern after having a written or verbal consent (at least 3 with different categories) 
• Designing a guide includes the results of the study following to the recommendations of the association and the CLS coordinator 

Timeline (Dates indicatives): 

• Meeting with Amal association: Mai 03, 2022
• Draft Methodology: Mai 04, 2022 
• Starting coordination with CLS: Mai 05,2022
• First draft of results: June 01, 2022 
• Final Draft of report: 10 June 
• Testimonial videos: 10 June 

Qualifications and Requirements 

• University degree (Bac+ 5) 
• Good contextual knowledge of human protection concerns, local specificizes and issues related to the topic, community priorities, social and cultural constraints and realities 
• Very good command of EN+FR language (speaking and writing skills) 
• Ability to use MS office, MS Excel, Adobe (to design the guide & to realize the testimonial videos) 
• Demonstrated experience in MEAL activities at (least 2 years required) 
• Background in integrated humanitarian programming (including Protection, violence against women)
