Job summary:

FHI360 seeks a Writer / Editor in English to join its Communications team in support of the USAID Ma3an project. The Writer / Editor writes, rewrites, and edits technical materials for dissemination to a variety of Ma3an stakeholders. She/He works with other staff across the project to ensure that materials are consistent with USAID Ma3an branding, are of high quality, and meet the needs of our client.

The Writer / Editor will help establish, maintain, and promote high standards for writing, editing, style, format, design, and production for all written materials at USAID Ma3an. They will also train regional staff in writing and contribute to the development of related training materials and tools, manage their workload, and keep supervisor informed of work progress, workload issues, availability for assignments, and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide high-quality writing and editing services in English for all aspects of USAID Ma3an project
  • Review preliminary outlines and drafts; make suggestions to improve responsiveness to USAID needs and contribute broadly as a member of the communications team
  • Work collaboratively with project teams to meet needs for project communication consistent with corporate and client standards. Help project identify appropriate resources to carry out project communication tasks
  • Provide high quality writing and editing services for technical materials throughout project life cycle, including final reports, and technical practice and outreach materials
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required

 

Consultancy is for a period of 3 months 

Basic deliverables include:

  • Writing / editing (English) of weekly reports or newsletters – Total of 12 newsletters
  • Writing  / editing (English) of weekly success stories – 1 per week minimum
  • Writing / editing (English) of social media posts  –  3-4 per week

 

 

 

شروط الترشّح

  • Minimum three years of relevant work experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong administrative skills, word processing abilities, and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to follow standard practices and procedures, receive general instruction and supervision on work progress, and make significant contribution to end results
  • Strong organizational and work prioritization skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications and Adobe Acrobat Professional
