We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of: Communications Specialist.

Description

FHI 360 is implementing Collaborative Action for Handicraft Exports (ACEA) project in Tunisia, funded by the U.S. the Department of State. In partnership with the National Office of Handicrafts (ONAT), the goal of this project is to foster a more competitive handicraft value chain in Tunisia, leading to long-term sustainable economic growth, increased exports, and increased employment.

This goal would be achieved through technical assistance to two handicrafts value chains, including the initiatives of two clusters. A first phase supported the “Natural extracts” value chain in the Northwest of Tunisia and the Olive Wood value chain in Sfax and Sidi Bouzid. While expanding support to these value chains the project will begin supporting three additional value chains in 2021.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Under the direct supervision of the Project Director, the Senior Communication Specialist will be fulfilling the following responsibilities:
  • Use information from discussions with program staff, interviews with partners, and data from monitoring and evaluation reports to report on program status and impact, including success stories, snapshots, press releases, weekly reports, quarterly reports, annual reports, and ad hoc reports
  • Provide technical support to programs and develop/update project’s strategies and plans in favor of meeting the project’s main objective: increase handicrafts exports, while adhering to budget, scope, and schedule requirements
  • Ensure the planning and the development of the Project’s communication strategy and activities.
  • Develop creative and effective ways to improve program communications
  • Collaborate and coordinate with all project staff to create a participatory approach for reporting and communication
  • Supervise the development of valuable and engaging content for digital communication (social networks, website and communication materials).
  • Ensure coordination with the relevant counterparts of the Client and of FHI 360 HQ.
  • Supervise the design and production of communication supports (videos, brochures, reports …) and provide recommendations about their presentation.
  • Implement systems to develop different databases in relation with communication and PR (contacts, pictures, videos, reports related to events etc …)
  • Rigorously supervise the Communication team including the Content Creator and relevant interns.

شروط الترشّح

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, and Graduate degree preferred in communication, languages, business development, or a related field.
  • Must have 7-10 years of technical and/or practical experience supporting communication development for export promotion
  • Experience with team supervision.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills. Fluent in Arabic and French, fluency in English also desirable.
  • Positive, pro-active personality with good interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Experience with international programs preferred, and familiarity with US Government rules and regulations is highly desirable.
  • Ability to conduct short term missions in different areas of Tunisia.
  • Able to communicate in a clear, positive fashion with clients and staff.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple simultaneous processes, set realistic priorities, and develop/adhere to plans for successful implementation of activities.
