Leaders International is an international network of local organizations that plans, manages, and monitors innovation and economic development interventions in the region. Through its offices in Brussels, Amman, Tunis and Ramallah, Leaders International provides complete project-management services with a focus on private-sector development, enterprise development, job creation, entrepreneurship, D4D, economic policy dialogue, and tourism value chain development.
The Communications Officer at Leaders International will be responsible for executing all communication and visibility efforts related to the organization’s projects in Tunisia. This includes content creation, event management, social media management, campaign execution, local media engagement, ensuring alignment with Leaders International’s regional communications strategy. The role requires strong coordination skills, creative content development, and hands-on experience in communications within the development or NGO sector.
This is a full-time position based in Tunis, requiring fluency in Arabic, French, and English.
Job Task and Responsibilities |
- Develop and implement communication and visibility plans for Tunisia-based projects. • Create compelling, multilingual content (Arabic, French, English) for social media, website, newsletters, press releases, and other channels.
- Plan and manage project-related events, ensuring media coverage and visibility for partners and donors.
- Manage local media relationships; coordinate interviews, press briefings, and coverage opportunities.
- Design and manage social media ad campaigns, including Calls to Action (CTAs), boosting, and analytics tracking.
- Support the creation of regular communication deliverables such as case studies, success stories, and media kits.
- Prepare monthly communication action plans and ensure timely implementation. • Coordinate with the regional Communications Manager to ensure consistency in branding and strategy.
- Maintain and update the visual documentation of projects (photos/videos) and support in storytelling through multimedia.
- Monitor media coverage and report on communication KPIs and milestones
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience |
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in NGOs, international organizations, or development projects.
- Proven experience in:
- ▪ Social media advertising and analytics
- ▪ Event management and public relations
- ▪ Media relations and campaign planning
- ▪ Multilingual content creation (Arabic, French, English)
- ▪ Strong understanding of the communications landscape in Tunisia.
- ▪ Familiarity with donor visibility requirements and communications for development.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic, French, and English.
- • Highly organized with strong time and task management skills.
- Proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
- • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Creative mindset with the ability to generate fresh ideas for campaigns and messaging.
Added Values (Preferred but Not Required)
- Basic photography and videography skills for field coverage and documentation.
- • Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Familiarity with AI-powered content creation tools (e.g., ChatGPT, AI-based video/photo editors).
