Summary: World Learning seeks a MENA Communications and Outreach Officer with experience in communications and social media content creation (videos, logos and visuals, etc.), community engagement, excellent English and Arabic technical writing competencies, and excellent program coordination and mobilization expertise to support the Middle East Partnership Initiative Alumni Engagement hereinafter referred to as “MEPI Alumni Connection Program”.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Responsible for creating programmatic visuals, posters, short videos and social media posts, webpage design, and online publishing;
- Develop content calendar and communications strategy to highlight MEPI alumni’s success and achievements on various social media platforms;
- Support the team with all forms of outreach to the alumni to track their updates and contact information;
- Write content for success stories and social media;
- Develop a range of effective community engagement practices for the program’s social media platforms and groups;
- Provide in-person/virtual event and campaign communication support through well-targeted live tweeting, social media placements, and community communications;
- As a social media and communications expert provide training, advice and mentorship to colleagues or beneficiaries as needed;
- Support colleagues in alumni communication outreach through drafting inspiring stories and communications based on the successes of beneficiaries;
- Support integration of DEI goals and practices in internal and external operations and communications, as well as in program design and implementation;
- Demonstrate curiosity about World Learning as a whole, with the aim of being able to effectively represent the organization to external audiences commensurate with the position;
- Support an organizational culture of continuous learning through rigorous program monitoring, data tracking, donor and MERL reporting, research and reflection to ensure strong outcomes;
- Handle other tasks as assigned by the MENA Program Manager.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A minimum of 4 years of practical experience in working on international programs or media agencies is preferred;
- A relevant bachelor’s degree;
- Strong writing and oral communication skills in Arabic and English required; advanced level in French would be beneficial;
- Strong cross-cultural experience with people from the Middle East and North Africa region;
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively with colleagues, or persons with different national and cultural backgrounds;
- Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational and event planning ability;
- Strong coordination, logistical, and time management skills;
- Strong computer and internet proficiency (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations and web-based tools);
- Working knowledge of Canvas, JotForm, MailChimp, Sendinblue / Brevo or other learning or participants recruitment/ research management systems;
- Experience creating and implementing social media-based communications strategies;
- Demonstrated ability to adjust to tight deadlines and donor needs;
- International work or study experience in the United States is preferred; alumni of MEPI, ECA or other USG programs are strongly encouraged to apply.
