The Coca-Cola Company & the US Department of State are partnering for the 5th consecutive year to sponsor 100 university students from 7 different countries across the Middle East, North Africa and Near Asia to attend a month-long business program at Indiana University’s prestigious Kelley School of Business, one of the top ranked business programs in the United States.

This multi-faceted, immersion scholarship program is designed to give a group of students the opportunity to learn about business education through an accelerated curriculum. The program, which begins in early July 2016, is fully funded including travel to and within the United States, accommodations, meals, and university and visa fees.

This edition of the program included Afghan, Algerian, Egyptian, Jordanian, Moroccan, Pakistani, Palestinian, and Tunisian university students. The MENA Scholarship website also saw its largest applicant pool in history, including over 10,000 applicants from the 8 representing countries. Participating students spent four weeks at Indiana University’s prestigious Kelley School of Business to refine their entrepreneurship skills and actually develop the tools to implement their business ideas in an effort to “make tomorrow better” in their home countries. The one-hundred university students had the chance to learn best American practices from leading executives from multiple companies across different industries throughout the 4-week program at Indiana University and for a week while visiting Washington D.C. and Atlanta. The students also had a chance to visit the United States Department of State to present their business ideas to a wide range of business-leading professionals with expertise in the MENA region. Students were also hosted at the US Chamber of Commerce for full-day session and a chance to interact with a wide range of business leaders and policy makers. Following their visit to Washington D.C., students traveled to Atlanta where they were hosted by Muhtar Kent, CEO and Chairman of The Coca-Cola Company, along with other leading executives in The Coca-Cola Company. Students also had a chance to visit the World of Coca-Cola where they had a chance to see the history of The Company.
