The Munathara Initiative is a registered non-profit organization founded in 2012 with offices in USA, Tunisia, Lebanon & Morocco. The Initiative aims at creating an independent and inclusive discussion and debate platform in the MENA region. The Munathara Initiative is working to provide everyone in the Arabic speaking world with a voice regardless of their age, gender or background in order to create a public sphere characterized by evolvability and tolerance towards different points of view. 

JOB PURPOSE: 

The Chief Editor supports the production of episode content, ensuring it is well-researched, high-quality, and aligned with audience needs. Responsibilities include script preparation, topic development, participant coordination, and assisting the project team with digital content. The role also involves tracking progress, maintaining brand consistency, and ensuring smooth episode execution. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Supervise the production of episodes of both radio and TV shows, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery until the end of the project.
  • Conduct thorough research to align content with audience interests, ensuring relevance and accuracy.
  • Prepare scripts and production materials for each episode, maintaining editorial coherence and efficiency.
  • Contribute to topic selection and episode planning, ensuring engaging and well-structured discussions.
  • Maintain content consistency with the organization’s messaging, branding, and editorial standards.
  • Aend preparation meetings with participants to refine their contributions and align them with production goals.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS: 

  • University Degree in a relevant field (communication, journalism, or a related field).
  • Considerable experience in production, preferably in television or digital media (+3 years).
  •  Strong background in content creation, including scriptwriting, research, and editing.
  • Excellent research skills with the ability to synthesize information for content development.
  •  Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate effectively with participants and the project team.
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
