Chemonics International seeks an Accounting Manager for the newly awarded USAID Tunisia Business Reform and Competitiveness Project II (BRCP II). The purpose of BRCP II is to create jobs in Tunisia by providing targeted technical assistance to individual firms, in order to increase that firm’s competitiveness, enabling it to expand and hire additional workers. At the same time, in support of the goal of job creation, the project will assist Tunisia with workforce development and job placement as well as identify and advocate for improvements in Tunisia’s business enabling environment. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of the project accounting and financial management. S/he oversees the processing of accounting transactions according to the general principles of accounting and adheres to the project’s policies and procedures.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Review of all accounting transactions entered into the accounting software by the Bookkeepers;
  • Review payments prepared by Bookkeepers to ensure that all supporting documentation and approvals are accurate;
  • Oversee processing of payroll each month and prepare salary receipt/payroll forms, as well as appropriate tax withholdings and employer contributions;
  • Review monthly wire transfer requests through a thorough analysis of projected project expenditures;
  • Support the Finance and Operations Manager as a liaison to other administrative and technical components to manage project financial budgeting andexpenditure progress;
  • Supervise and train Bookkeepers on project’s accounting and financial management procedures;
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Finance and Operations Manager to achieve the project’s goals and objectives.

Critères d'éligibilité

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or other relevant field preferred.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in accounting.
  • A strong knowledge in and understanding of USAID regulations preferred.
  • Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets and preparation of graphs, tables, charts with Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and account software
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity.
  • Fluency in Arabic and French, proficient in English.
