LEED INITIATIVE
LEED Initiative is an international NGO based in Germany with a current MENA Head office in Tunisia and plans to expand soon in Africa, Central Asia and Europe.
LEED stands for LEADERSHIP, EMPOWERMENT, EMPLOYABILITY and DIVERSITY with the goal to contribute to women and youth empowerment by offering career perspectives in the technical, digital, and cultural industries. LEED follows a solution-oriented approach to combat youth unemployment and causes of migration worldwide, to strengthen local economic structures, to encourage women, especially in technical, digital
and cultural professions, and to help companies hire the talents and leaders of tomorrow. LEED takes an inclusive approach in doing its work by promoting diversity and Leaving No One Behind.
WOMENTUM project
LEED’s WOMENTUM NETWORK project works to reinforce the efforts of feminist entities in the MENA region by providing them with technical and capacity-building support. The project aims to significantly strengthen
young grassroots movements and established NGOs working for social, economic, and political equality for all genders. Through establishing a feminist network within the MENA region, partners will be able to collaborate, build stronger political argumentation chains, and improve their project implementation capacity, boosting their work on gender equality.
Objectives of the mission
In the framework of the WOMENTUM project that aims at empowering partner organizations in the region,one of the needs expressed by our partner organizations is to have a training on policy writing. The expected outcome is for the trainees to acquire good knowledge on policy writing. Trainees can successfully proceed to propose policy papers
for policy and system change in accordance with the causes their organizations work on. The trainees are expected to be able to design clear policy advocacy campaigns to inform and influence decision-makers on
gender-related themes.
After successfully completing the training on policy writing, the trainees are
expected to:
● Become familiar with the principles of clear policy writing and how to
deliver key messages.
● Understand more clearly the role of communication in public policy.
● Have a general ability to evaluate a communication’s potential impact.
● Have developed an ability to consider contexts rhetorically, strategically and ethically.
● Have acquired a critical ability to distinguish good writing from bad.
● Have learnt critical analytical skills in evaluating writing and communication
● Have been required to demonstrate effective writing, and
● Have acquired an understanding of the uses and purposes to which writing is directed.
Trainer’s responsibilities
In this regard, the trainer will be responsible for:
● Developing the policy writing course in accordance with LEED’s e-learning platform and be comfortable with using e-learning platforms.
● Developing digital contents for online delivery: presentation materials including PowerPoint slides, visual aids, session plans, hands-on exercises, and other supplementary training materials.
● Delivering the content to different representatives of the WOMENTUM partner organizations
● Conducting pre-post evaluation surveys.
● Explaining all course material in Arabic
● Facilitate an in-person wrap session of the training during the WOMNETUM regional conference
● Delivering a mission report including the methodology, components, and tools used.
● Preparing required post-training reports incorporating evaluation
results and trainer’s views on lessons learned and recommendations. Leed Initiative’s responsibilities
● Monitor and supervise the work of the trainer and review progress of
the work;
● Provide technical assistance /feedback as necessary;
● Ensure payment of agreed amount as scheduled. Payment will be linked to successful delivery of the deliverables as per Leed Initiative’s rules and regulations; and
● Any other tasks/support as required and agreed by the Leed Initiative.
Timeframe
The training will be conducted in two parts :
● Part I: An online training on LEED’s e-learning platform
● Part II: An in-person wrap-up session held in Tunis during the WOMENTUM regional conference
Basic course documents must be delivered by the second week of April 2023, and the training should be delivered during the third week of April 2023. An in-person wrap session is expected to be held in Tunis in early May 2023.
Trainer’s responsibilities
In this regard, the trainer will be responsible for:
● Developing the policy writing course in accordance with LEED’s e-learning platform and be comfortable with using e-learning platforms.
● Developing digital contents for online delivery: presentation materials including PowerPoint slides, visual aids, session plans, hands-on exercises, and other supplementary training materials.
● Delivering the content to different representatives of the WOMENTUM partner organizations

● Previous training evidence.
● Examples of previous reports.
● Didactic offer for the mission (Methodology of the training and
timeframe.)
● Financial offer for the mission.
⮚ Tenders’ evaluation:
Applications will be reviewed by LEED CEO MENA and the WOMENTUM
project officer.
