About the mission:
Working in over 30 countries, Islamic Relief Worldwide promotes sustainable economic and social development by working with local communities to eradicate poverty and illiteracy.
We also respond to disasters and emergencies, helping people in crisis.
Islamic Relief (IR) provides support regardless of religion, ethnicity, or gender and without expecting anything in return. IR has been working in Tunisia since 2011, when we supported refugees fleeing violence in Libya as well as Tunisian host communities. Since registering our office in Tunisia in 2012, we have set up and managed camps on the Tunisian border and provided humanitarian services to over 15,000 people. As the camp was wound down, we helped refugees unable to return to Libya to build new lives in Tunisia.
Besides, supporting refugees, IR has implemented projects in health, wash water sanitation and hygiene (WASH), food security, education – as well as schemes enabling poor families to earn a decent living. We also support local associations across the country through the implementation implement partnerships and capacity building programmes.
Currently, IR is focusing on the sector of Education in partnership with the Ministry of Education.
Tunisia Child Friendly Schools Project:
Tunisia Child Friendly Schools project is funded by IR partner offices in USA, CANADA & GERMANY. It targets 400 schools in the 26 Regional Directorates of Education and focuses on refurbishing the latrines of the targeted schools, improving the hygiene practices of school children and enhancing the extracurricular activities related to Hygiene, Environment and Reading.
Mission Purpose:
Islamic relief Tunisia seeks for 33 service providers to be based in 16 governorates, for a 6 months’ mission. The service providers will visit schools for monitoring and coordination of hygiene promotion activities as well as supporting social mobilization & program staff in implementing project’s activities such as conducting hygiene promotion awareness session for boys and girls , animating health clubs in schools , kits distribution, supervising pupils behavioral change and reporting School Hygiene Promotion weekly activities
Working Area
Key Working Relationships
Regular contact with project staff, to follow up on the implementation of Hygiene promotion activities along with school club creation (The service provider will have to travel to Tunis for quarterly meetings with the project team).
Scope and Authority
TCFS service providers oversee conducting hygiene sessions in schools and ensuring that the program meets Islamic Relief Quality Standards. WASH volunteers will provide support in the implementation, reporting and monitoring of WASH project’s activities.

The mission holder is accountable for fulfilling his or her roles and responsibilities in line with Islamic relief core and principles of fairness, humanity, honesty, respect and fair treatment of his/her colleagues.

The service provider will receive instructions from Project Staff about his/ her assigned region with regular coordination and evaluation with the Hygiene Promotion Officer.
