We are seeking proposals from Tunisian Civil Society Organizations for projects that fulfils one or more of the following objectives:
Through this grant scheme, we aim to support creative and innovative activities on FoE and AtI, that raise awareness with citizens and encourage them to join forces with journalists and civil society actors to defend FoE and be more knowledgeable about the laws and mechanisms that protect these rights.
We are seeking Tunisian CSOs and media organizations focusing on media literacy, content creation, civic education, cultural and artistic expression, gender issues, marginalized groups and underserved communities.
Hivos will support up to 3 CSOs with a mini grant (ranging from the equivalent of 10,000-15,000 USD) which will be selected based on the quality and relevance of their projects, and the impact they hope to achieve and how they will work with their target groups.

This call is directed to local organizations who are operating in Tunisia:
Projects which are not eligible:
Projects will have a duration of approximately 3-5 months between 1 May and the 1 October 2023. Grants will be a minimum of $10,000 and a maximum of $15,000.
The budget should reflect maximum of 20% coverage for project staff, and at least 80% towards direct project costs.
Ineligible costs:
Expenses such as: office rent, equipment, and other ongoing office-related costs.
Step 1: Submission of concepts notes by 29 March.
Step 2: Selection by a small grants committee between 29-31 March.
Step 3: Announcement by week of 3 April.
Step 4: Review and discussions with selected subgrantees between mid-to end April. Step 5: Contracting and Project Inception by 1 May.
