BACKGROUND
The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) is a non-governmental, independent, non-profit organization engaged in electoral technical assistance worldwide. Since 2011, IFES has been implementing programs to support the democratic transition in Tunisia.
The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) is calling on civil society organizations in Tunisia to participate in the Youth Change Makers (YCM) program.
The YCM program aims at encouraging young Tunisians to participate in civic and political life through implementing innovative activities in the regions. The selected civil society organizations will be led by youth advocates and organizers addressing the important issues of our day through youth-led and youth-driven strategies that combine traditional organizing, social media, and voter engagement approaches. In addition to this social change work, the initiatives should be built and run with youth development practices that build leadership and agency among participants. Illustrative examples of youth-led initiatives are coffee talks, digital campaigns, cultural events, and other community organizing activities. IFES will prioritize organizations focusing on empowering youth with disabilities, Black youth, and youth living in socio-economically deprived areas.
The applicant(s) can target any governorate(s) in Tunisia. However, preference will be given to activities in the following governorates: Jendouba, Sidi Bouzid, Béja, Le Kef, Tataouine, Gafsa, Tozeur, Medenine, Bizerte, Kasserine, Kairouan, Kebeli, and Gabès.
In addition to the grant, the awarded organization(s) will receive refresher trainings on project management, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), and finance management.
GRANT SIZE: 8,000 TND per governorate.
DURATION
The implementation period for the project is from May 1 until August 15 (Three months and a half).
