Call for applications for grants for creative content production
Internews’ Tawasol Project
Internews will distribute 20 creative content production grants to CSOs and independent media outlets to develop fact-based, quality reporting on rights issues impacting marginalized racial and ethnic communities and underrepresented groups, especially black Tunisians and Sub-Saharan migrants. The eligible proposed ideas must be targeting these communities and use creative arts and other existing community-based platforms. Content must be based on reliable sources with a reputation for data validation and accuracy and professionalism in content production.
Requests may include short films, social media content, and audiovisual documentary reports.
Tawasol:
Tawasol is a 24-month program which aims to create a more inclusive Tunisian society for marginalized racial and ethnic communities and underrepresented and vulnerable groups by countering discrimination and promoting greater diversity in media coverage. This will be accomplished through three key objectives: 1) Counter mis- and disinformation as well as negative rhetoric targeting marginalized racial and ethnic communities, as well as refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants; 2) Strengthen the capacity of independent media outlets to investigate and develop fact-based, quality reporting on rights issues impacting marginalized racial and ethnic communities and underrepresented groups; and, 3) Support content development and community-based journalism by underrepresented and vulnerable communities on rights-related issues of community concern.

The selection committee will select a number of proposals in consultation with local partners, and selected journalists and media outlets will be informed and invited to an orientation session.
Who can apply?
Internews encourages Tunisian journalists and content creators from all independent national, local and community media outlets and civil society organizations who publish in Arabic and French to apply for this grant. Applicants can be:
