The Center for Private Enterprise (CIPE) and Stanford University in partnership with IACE are seeking highly qualified leaders for a Leadership Academy for Development (LAD) in January 2024!
Between January 22-26, 2024, in collaboration with Stanford University, the Center for Private Enterprise (CIPE) and IACE, will deliver a Leadership Academy for Development (LAD) to a select number of leaders from Tunisia. The deadline for applications is December 15. Further details follow.
What is the LAD? The LAD is an intensive crash-course in complex decision making, designed by Stanford University. It gathers leaders from civil society, business, government and other sectors to learn about policies that encourage private sector growth and economic and social development. Through real-life case studies, small group work and thematic lectures, participants develop skills in designing and implementing public policy initiatives that take into account stakeholder interests, and political, cultural and social factors. LAD participants are particularly encouraged to think critically about the trade-offs and decisions that lead to featured public policy responses. As small groups work through their case studies, they will be also asked to apply tools and skills they are learning to a policy issue of their choosing. On the final day of the course, each group will deliver a presentation that will analyze the issue they chose, present options and recommend (and justify) a specific policy response.
How will the LAD be delivered? This LAD will be offered exclusively to leaders and professionals across Tunisia. It will be delivered over five, full-day sessions between January 22-26, 2024at the Institut Arabe des Chefs d’Entreprises (IACE). CIPE, IACE, and Stanford will also offer additional, optional sessions as opportunities for networking and additional learning. All sessions will be in English. There is no cost to participants.
What are the applicant criteria? LAD course participants will be selected via a competitive application process. While CIPE seeks leaders from all sectors, any applicant should have demonstrated interest or experience in public policy, economic growth or social development issues, whether from a local or national, micro- or macro-perspective. Applicants should have seven years of work experience. Applicants should have strong analytical abilities and an interest in problem solving. A good command of English is required, since course instruction will be in English.
