Why applying?

You want to change something in your surrounding, but you don‘t know exactly what. You want to do something good for others, but don‘t know how. You want to learn and develop, but not from books. You want to be and work together with like minded people, but can‘t find them.

The Mosta9bali program might be the place to be for you!

Mosta9bali empowers Tunisian youth age 18-25, from Gabes Region, to be active citizens and change-makers in their communities. This year, the program will focus on elements of inclusion of the youth, communities, society, and beyond. Up to 30 young change-makers will kick-off the program in July 2018 to:

  • Connect with other young change-makers from Gabes
  • Gain and exchange knowledge about topics such as inclusion, shaping the community, project management, and active citizenship
  • Dream, plan, and implement innovative solutions to local community challenges
  • Get support from a network of peers, mentors, trainers, and partners
  • Strengthen the quality and impact of work done at the local level
  • Co-create an Tunisian network of young, passionate change-makers

 

Mosta9bali participants must make a commitment to attend all three seminars of the program:

  • Kick-off seminar, 24-30 July 2018
  • Project Management seminar, 06-13 September 2018
  • Evaluation seminar, 16-20 December 2018

Language: All sessions will be offered in Arabic. Want to improve your English? For those who are interested, some sessions in the seminar will be available in either English or Arabic. Those who would like to attend English sessions must complete the application in English to demonstrate your level of proficiency.

Cost: Accommodation, food & transportation will be covered for all participants during the seminars.

What does a Mosta9bali participant look like?

Mosta9bali participants represent different backgrounds, levels of education, and mind-sets. They come from Gabes Region. They are all connected through a desire and a drive to have a positive social impact in their communities.

What benefits and resources will Mosta9bali participants have access to on completion of the program?

On completion of the program, participants become alumni. How can we describe Mosta9bali alumni?

  • They have implemented projects in their communities that have a BIG social impact
  • They are qualified in project management
  • They are leaders and volunteers in their communities, universities, and networks
  • They have access to the Mosta9bali network – including local and international training opportunities, connection to local NGOs or incubators to continue to support their projects or learning goals

About Mosta9bali Program

The Mosta9bali program is running in two regions of Tunisia – on Djerba and in the Gabes Region.

The overall goal of Mosta9bali is to anchor a democratic culture in the society

  • by supporting the youth in unfolding their potential as solution makers in their communities,
  • by training them in soft and management skills,
  • by empowering them through learning by doing in self developed community initiatives and
  • by raising their self-confidence.

About AJEM-Association Jlij pour l’Environment Marin:

We work on strengthening the skills of local associations in communication techniques and conflict management, on citizen relations with the municipality, waste management, promoting eco-tourism, etc.

About Gabes Action Association:

We see ourselves as an alternative to the concretization of ideas, a non-political and democratic structure of civil society in Gabes. Our vision is a democratic, prosperous and sustainable society. We participate in sustainable development, particularly in the Gabes  region, develop the principles of citizenship and volunteerism, disseminate human rights values and establish collaborative links with other Tunisian and foreign organizations.

  • You live in Gabes Region, Tunisia
  • You’re between the age of 18-25
  • You are convinced that learning is a lifelong process
  • You are motivated to make a social impact in your community
  • You are available to make a commitment to attend all seminars
  • You are ready to be an active participant in Mosta9bali
