Overall Purpose of Job

BBC Media Action is looking for an energetic Resources Assistant to help manage and maintain its office, take care of the garden and be responsible for basic day-to-day security. BBC Media Action will provide the Resources Assistant with accommodation at the organization’s property.

Main Duties

  •  Handle day-to-day purchases according to the office needs such as water and basic office equipment
  •  Protect BBC Media Action’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment
  •  Examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure security
  •  Look after the garden and perform basic maintenance tasks such as cutting grass, raking leaves, emptying bins, managing weed control…
  •  Look after the office including simple tasks such as changing light bulbs, catch any repairs, check heating and cooling systems…
  •  Carry out basic administrative tasks such as submitting the CNSS declarations, the tax declarations, work permits requests…
  •  Provide external and internal support to suppliers of equipment and services (electrician, locksmith, cleaner, librarian…)
  •  Escort guests and inform appropriate employee regarding guest requests
  •  Detect problems, risks or needs and report information to appropriate personnel
  •  Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  •  Will be required to work a maximum of 40 hours per week

Critères d'éligibilité

  • Ability to understand, follow, and enforce safety codes, regulations, and procedures
  • At least one year’s experience in a similar role
  • Fluent French and Arabic
  • Great attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility and customer service oriented
  • Good spoken and written communication skills
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Driving License preferred
  • English preferred
