Background:

The Rule of Law Programme Middle East / North Africa of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) and the Arab Association of Constitutional Law (AACL) are preparing to launch an online peer-reviewed legal journal. The purpose of this journal is to encourage and enrich the discussions of constitutional developments in the Middle East and North Africa. The Journal will be published mainly in English, but will also allow for the publication of some articles in both French and Arabic.

Scope of Work:

The main responsibilities and duties of the editor is to ensure the quality of the journal as a scientific trusted source in the field of constitutional development. The editor will be responsible from all technical and operational aspects regarding journal.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop the journal editorial guideline’s and publication objectives in consultation with the Journal board.
• Develop a set of guidelines to authors for preparing and submitting their articles.
• Conduct first assessment of the submitted papers and share them with the board for scientific revision.
• Follow up with authors of the submitted papers after the peer-review to finalize the final submission of their papers.
• Work closely with the web designer to ensure that all the designing features are aligned with the publication guidelines.
• Must have a training with the journal web designer to be able to regularly update the content of the journal online.
• Work with the board to prepare the proposal for the journal further editions.

This job will be for a period of 3 months within AACL which is renewable according to the satisfactory performance and availability of fund. The location of the post is flexible.
