The International Committee of The Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Libya Delegation temporarily relocated in Tunis, is recruiting an Air Operations Assistant in its office in Tunis. The Airops assistant is:

 

  • Main responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Air Operations Manager, the Airops assistant is in charge of preparing, monitoring and consolidating the flights, in coordination with other Airops officers in Libya and slotting allocation in airports in Libya and in Tunisia.

 

  • AirOps Management:

Is responsible for flight plannings, authorizations and flight clearances obtaining in Tunis and in Libya. Manages flight related inquiries, pax and cargo bookings, coordination and briefing of all passengers.

 

  • Flight Bookings

Focal point for passenger and cargo bookings to/from Tunis and responsible for data entry and update.   Supervise, monitor, control and assist the bookings from other stations. Prepare and publish daily manifests for all destinations and load sheets for aircrews.

 

  • Passenger handling and airport duties and coordination

Coordinate movement of passengers, luggage, cargo and diplomatic mail to the aircraft. Ensure all safety and accompany procedures are respected. Advice on any security related issues and liaise with the fuel supplier at the base.

Coordinate aircraft schedules with ICRC sites, follow up weather reports, ensure and coordinate incoming/outbound passengers, cargo transfers, and transfers loading/off-loading with related departments, liaise with airport authorities on aviation issues, immigration procedures, etc.

 

  • Reports and Statistics:

Is responsible for the statistics and time reporting, consolidate and prepare all relevant flight info’s.

Critères d'éligibilité

  • University degree or professional diploma
  • Minimum 3-4 years of work experience, preferably as a flight dispatcher, or with an airline/FBO
  • Very good knowledge of written and spoken Arabic, French and English including knowledge of aviation technical terminology
  • Very good computer skills
  • Proven capacity to manage priorities, is keen to continuously learn and adapt, team player and Service-oriented
  • Excellent organizational and planification skills, sense of initiative and pro-activeness
  • Driving licence
  • Interest for humanitarian activities (especially ICRC's).
