Advocacy/Watchdog Specialist position – FHI 360 Retour vers les opportunités

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Advocacy/Watchdog Specialist for an anticipated USAID-funded project in Tunisia. This nationwide activity will focus on facilitating a productive relationship between the Tunisian civil society and the Government of Tunisia.

**The Advocacy/Watchdog Specialist position is subject to project award and funding.

Position Description:

The Advocacy/Watchdog Specialist position will report to the Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP). S/he will provide overall technical direction with regard to civil society-initiated advocacy and watchdog functions under the project. S/he will collaborate very closely with a wide range of Tunisian civil society organizations (CSOs) and also serve as liaison to selected Tunisian government offices/bureaus. S/he will work closely with other team members engaged in youth engagement and countering violent extremism (CVE). The position will be based in Tunis, Tunisia.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical:

• Supports the Deputy Chief of Party by providing technical direction with regard to CSO advocacy and watchdog/monitoring work.
• Is positioned within a small technical team that also works on youth engagement and countering violent extremism (CVE), as well as CSO organizational capacity-building.
• Provides overall technical guidance for the design and implementation of activities to support CSO advocacy work and CSO watchdog (monitoring) work.
• Stay abreast of developments and evidence generation in relevant technical areas and integrate them into the project.

Compliance:

• Ensures compliance with USAID requirements, U.S. government regulations, and FHI 360 policies and procedures.
• Contributes to the preparation of project deliverables, including annual work-plans and project activity updates, and other project-related communication and reporting materials in accordance with USAID deadlines.

External Relations and Representation:

• Engages with a wide range of Tunisian CSOs that will be beneficiaries of this project. Also serves as liaison with selected offices/bureaus within the Tunisian government, depending on the nature of the CSO watchdog priorities.
• Helps DCOP to build strong strategic partnerships with a wide group of stakeholders required to achieve project goals, including Tunisian civil society organizations (national, regional, and local) and the private sector.
