Project Description:
– The LIRAS project aims to provide assistance for refugees living in economically underserved settings in Tunisia, with a focus on the cities of Gabes, Mednine, and Sfax, and ensure their access to livelihoods, labour market assistance, protection and peaceful co-existence with the local community.
In order to develop a sustainable model that can ensure the self-reliance and economic integration of refugees and asylum seekers in Tunisia, ADRA will work on the following concrete measures:
o Facilitate their access to wage-employment in private sectors
- Facilitate their access to self-employment by establishing lucrative businesses that are competitive and tailored to the refugee’s vocation and specific skills, while being compliant to Tunisia’s laws and legislations.
Responsibilities of the Position:
- The Junior Micro-Project Specialist (JMPS) will be responsible for assisting project beneficiaries in facilitating their access to self-employment. The JMPS will take a coaching and cooperative approach with project beneficiaries as they seek to establish income generating businesses to ensure their financial self-reliance.
- Conduct awareness and information events for refugees (individually or in group) about project services.
- Profile and identify project beneficiaries by creating a profile sheet of the beneficiary.
- Determine refugees’ skills and levels of competencies as it relates to entrepreneurship.
- Identify income generating micro project opportunities for project beneficiaries. Business opportunities should be based on scientific market assessments and feasibility studies.
- Assist the refugee in the creation of business plans for each micro project, with corresponding budgets and work plan.
- Submit business plans to a Livelihoods Joint Committee for approval of funding.
- Seek out opportunities for skills training or certification for project beneficiaries needing any complementary training, certification or services to fulfill such need.
- Assist in the procurement process of equipment required for each micro project assigned to the JMPS.
- Assist refugees in securing proper documentation and agreements as it pertains to the creation and implementation of their businesses. Create a user-friendly filing system of said documents.
- Create marketing plans for all micro projects that are approved.
- Participate and attend partner coordination meetings.
- Create detailed, objective, and reportable reports as it relates to micro project initiatives.
- Provide personal coaching and training for refugees during the whole process of micro project creation.
- Create project reports on a weekly/bi-weekly basis for the Project Manager and Country Director.
- Advise the Management Team on micro project initiatives.
- Perform all other relevant duties and responsibilities requested by the supervisor(s).
- Ensure the cash transaction monitoring.
Qualifications
- High level of excellence and integrity.
- At least 3 – 5 years of relevant experience, preferably, within the context of an International NGO.
- Strong knowledge of the Tunisian market.
- Prior experience in business creation and management
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Diploma in Business, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, or other related field; Candidates with professional experience as it pertains to the job description may also be considered.
