Assignment:

In coordination with the REACH Country Focal Point, the Database Assistant will support the Data officer in data cleaning and is responsible for data quality assurance and liaising with Data Collectors in Libya during the data collection period. The REACH Data Base Assistant will liaise with the Senior Data Base Officer, Assessment Officer and GIS Officer to ensure timely collection of data from local partners based in Libya during the assessment period. The REACH Data Base Assistant also acts as point of contact for the team of Data Collectors in the field. Fulfilling other duties when requested by the Country Focal Point or Assessment Manager.

We are currently looking for a REACH Data Base Assistant to support our REACH Libya team based in Tunis, Tunisia. No travel to Libya required.

Internal Relations:

REACH Country Focal Point; REACH DB/GIS Officer, Enumerators, other ACTED and REACH  team members

Responsibilities

The REACH Data Base Assistant is responsible for completing the following tasks:

Support data collection in the field

Develop data collection forms

• Train enumerators on the use of data collection methods, tools, and processes
• Follow-up on data technical issues pertaining to data collection in Libya
• Provide timely and accurate updates to the REACH DB/GIS Officer of any changes or challenges in data collection
• Review and process filled questionnaires
• Manage data cleaning and maintenance of databases
• Provide support to other REACH team members as required in data aspects.

Ensure data quality assurance

• Responsible for data cleaning, and for support on debriefings
• Develop training materials on data collection techniques, data safety and security, among other topics
• In coordination with the REACH Country Focal point, under the direct supervision of the REACH DB/GIS Officer, participate in coordination platforms based in Tunis as needed and relevant

Management

• Implement operational processes and controls to help ensure that data management services are of the highest quality by providing appropriate support to enumerators;
• Establish strong regular coordination at central and field levels with enumerators for data collection and management
• Assist in the recruitment, training and on-going support of data collectors and data entry personnel, where appropriate.
