Fatma is an agro-food scientist and value chain development specialist. She received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in agro-food engineering with a specialization in food science and food technologies, respectively from Carthage University at Tunisia and University Libre of Brussels at Belgium, where she is currently completing her Ph.D.
From 2013 to present, she is working with the World Bank and the NGO : FHI360. She worked closely with farmers and agro-enterprise owners to assess the agribusiness ecosystem, and then assisted and led quantitative analyses at multiple scales for the market strategy and policy design with a particular emphasis on value chain assessment for rural alliance system. She participated in the development of a well-researched and defensible action plan which can justify potentially sizable investments that will generate employment and competitiveness in lagging regions in the sectors of Olive oil, Tomato and Medicinal and Aromatic Plants.
Fatma has gained valuable experience in designing, coordinating and implementing projects in the agriculture sector. She also has a strong academic background and is up to date on latest developments in research, in the area of the commercialization of agricultural products.
Currently, she is working on her own firm to produce natural ingredients and bioactive substances for agro food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. Her challenge is to build a Successful Startup and Keep It Afloat
