2nd Forum:
“HANNIBAL Op.”: TUNISIA!
Introduction:
This is the second forum of the project “HANNIBAL Op.” in its Tunisian version. To meet the challenges of neighborhood policy with the European Union, today our young leaders are asking questions that stretch to take all the subjects of the EU relationship / Southern Mediterranean (TUNISIA) where civil society has a say and is getting more involved.

Process:
In order to achieve mastery and involvement of Southern Youth (TUNISIA) to build and defend an equal partnership, we hope by this first encounter create a dynamic of actors to form the stem cell young leaders of change.

Who is eligible to apply?:
Applicants will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, gender, religion, socio-economic status, disability, sexual orientation or gender identity.
The “HANNIBAL Op.” TUNISIA 2nd Forum is open to young Tunisian leaders who meet the following criteria:
1-Are between the ages of 18 and 30 at the time of application submission, although exceptional applicants younger than 18 will be considered.
2-Are Tunisian citizens or permanent residents of the Tunisian Republic.
3-Are proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
4-Are citizens and residents of one of the Tunisian regions.
The Tunisian Institute for Peace and Conflicts Studies and partners reserve the right to verify all of the information included in the application. In the event that there is a discrepancy, or information is found to be false, the application will immediately be declared invalid and the applicant ineligible.
Applications not meeting the above technical eligibility requirements will not be forwarded to the selection committee. If you do not meet the technical eligibility requirements for this program, we invite you to visit TIPCS jobs portal for information on other opportunities.

What are the criteria for selection?
Selection panels will use the following criteria to evaluate applications (not in order of importance):
1-A proven record of leadership and accomplishment in public service, business and entrepreneurship, or civic engagement.
2-A demonstrated commitment to public or community service, volunteerism, or mentorship.
3-The ability to work cooperatively in diverse groups and respect the opinions of others.
4-Strong social and communication skills.
5-An energetic, positive attitude.
6-Demonstrated knowledge, interest and professional experience in the sector/track selected.
7-A commitment to return to the original Tunisian residence region and apply leadership skills and training to benefit the applicant’s community and/or youth.
Number of Tunisian players: 26 young leaders will be selected.
In the future, experts, professionals, trade unions, media, activists and scholars will be invited to conduct a structured dialogue with our Youth about the neighborhoods policies North / South.

Application Information:
The application will collect basic information and will include questions regarding the applicant’s professional and academic experience, including educational background; honors and awards received; extracurricular and volunteer activities; and English language proficiency. We will also request a résumé (with dated educational and professional background), and personal information (name, address, phone, email, country of citizenship). Additional elements, such as letters of recommendation or university transcripts, are OPTIONAL and may supplement your application.

Strategy:
The strategy “HANNIBAL Op.” TUNISIA that we propose is the following:
+Provide our young leaders basic training about a development model of 5-axis:
1-An inclusive growth and convergent (Economic Partnership / Investment),
2-Based on territorial development (local development and decentralization),
3-Which provides social cohesion (culture, diversity, equality, intergenerational)
4-Environmentally,
5-And puts people at the center of interest (the youth, the initiative by the population and the well being of citizens).
+Supporting the convergence of our young leaders to model and manage résilences (Governance reforms etc).
+Moving forward with an approach that integrates young people on all levels.

Forum Plan:
From Friday 14 until Sunday 16 October 2016, we will be discovering and discussing these principal fields of interests:
1-Tools and structured regional dialogue.
2-SOUTH-SOUTH Partnership and External Relations.
3-Reforms, Democracy and Human Rights.
4-Energy & Water, Environment and Biodiversity.
5-Development (economic, social and territorial).
6-Mobility.
7-Security & Peace, diversity and social cohesion.
8-Economic Partnership and Investment (Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Areas (DCFTA)).
