American Corner Tunis invites to the “Empower Women” Workshop lead by U.N. volunteer Emna Ben Hassine on Saturday November 26th at 10AM.
During the workshop, participants will learn all of the necessary information to volunteer in the U.N. Empower Women project.
The project focuses on writing and editing Wikepedia articles about Tunisian women. “Gender gap is not a hidden mystery, and now, neither is the online gap. Statistics from Wikipedia show that 85% of Wikipedia editors are men. Statistics from Wikipedia show that the gap is in a consistent process of widening.
UN women, Empower Women, HeForShe, UNITE, and hundreds of volunteer champions around the world are working on enhancing and increasing the content on Wikipedia related to women and gender equality to raise awareness, to close the gender knowledge gap, and to start changing and editing the future.” – U.N. Empower Women’s initiative.
All are invited to attend the workshop and volunteer.
