A Program for Moroccan and Tunisian Managers
At the Robert Bosch Stiftung’s initiative, the European Academy Berlin is carrying out the “Baladiya – New Approaches to Urban Development” program. This program offers a total of 20 Moroccan and Tunisian managers active in the field of urban development the ability to enhance their management skills and find solutions to the current problems facing their home cities. The German association for international collaboration is supporting the program within the scope of the CoMun project.
Objectives
The municipal level of government is particularly close to the citizens. It can speak to citizens directly, get them involved, and as a result, improve the living conditions of residents living in Moroccan and Tunisian cities. For example, introducing participative measures should help the citizens learn to actively play a role in shaping their environment. The goal is to strengthen people’s trust in the reform and democratization processes in both countries by explaining and discussing the day-to-day problems in politics and local government.
