Objectif général

The objective of this project is to produce knowledge about how vulnerable young women apprehend politics, with a focus on the election episode of October 2011 in disadvantaged regions of Tunisia (Tozeur, Gafsa and Kasserine). Through a field survey,the projects aims to establish the causes that explain the attitudes vis-à-vis politics taking into account the following variables: social determinants; the cultural, social position, gender, age and to identify obstacles and opportunities for political participation of vulnerable young women.

TheCenter of Arab Women for Training and Research (CAWTAR), with the support of the Social and Human Sciences Sector of UNESCO Maghreb initiates a project of a qualitative survey on the participation of young women tolocal democracy.

The evidence revealed by this survey will feed into policy briefs, advocacy and outreach sent to elected (s) of the National Constituent Assembly, policy makers at the local level to promote and strengthen the participation of this category of population in local democracy.
