Search in Tunisia

SFCG’s mission in Tunisia is to promote the culture of dialogue and diversity through the involvement of all parts of society while building their capacities. SFCG works in Tunisia to help members of Tunisian society to address conflicts and differences constructively through cooperation and dialogue. SFCG-Tunisia works across multiple channels, mainly with youth, CSOs, media actors, security forces, and local authorities to build the capacity of individuals and institutions to address challenges including differences and acting on common points. Through this approach and partnerships, SFCG-Tunisia has four main strategic objectives: (i) Promoting Peace Education; (ii) Fostering non-violent social dialogue; (iii) Enhancing participatory and inclusive governance; and (vi) Transforming Violent Extremism in Tunisia. We are searching for…

SFCG is currently recruiting for the position of Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships Advisor for USAID Tunisia Resilience and Community Empowerment (TRACE) program, which will increase the capacity of communities to withstand political, social, and economic stresses and shocks by achieving the objectives of: 1) strengthened community resilience, 2) mitigated community vulnerabilities, and 3) improved capacity of Tunisian partners to sustain and replicate the model. TRACE will spur 30 of Tunisia’s most vulnerable communities to action and generate sustainable resources for development in areas that are vulnerable to instability and violent extremism (VE). Together with USAID/Tunisia’s programs in accountability, decentralization, and youth entrepreneurship (i.e., TADAEEM and Mashrou3i), TRACE will consolidate democratic progress while fostering social cohesion in target areas.

Your contribution

The Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships Advisor will serve as a member of the technical team managed by SFCG and will report on programmatic deliverables to the TRACE Senior Technical Advisor.
S/he will manage the Advisory Council and develops and implements TRACE’s overall strategy for engaging public, private, and civil society stakeholders. The Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships Advisor will coach the five Regional Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships Officers located in TRACE sub-offices.

The roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide technical design and implementation support to local partners and regional staff to develop a shared understanding of resiliency needs in TRACE target communities where community members (public and private) are actively engaged as participants and leaders in the full cycle of design, management, and evaluation of community activities;
  • Develop and implement TRACE’s overall strategy for engaging public, private, and civil society stakeholders;
  • Lead on the mapping of private sector and existing CSR initiatives in TRACE intervention regions;
  • Train and work with Regional Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships Officers to develop public-private partnerships in TRACE target communities to help them respond to unique regional challenges;
  • Provide technical design and implementation support for the organization of the local public-private dialogues, producing agreed upon activities;
  • Work with TRACE local partners to help local enterprises in TRACE target communities understand the value of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and to replicate and scale CSR initiatives to contribute to local development activities;
  • Assist the Senior Technical Advisor and Deputy Chief of Party with the design and development of activities that promote private-public partnerships and address community resilience local challenges;
  • Coordinate regularly with Regional Program Managers in all offices to ensure that activities are in alignment with program goals;
  • Support the monitoring, evaluation, and learning (ME&L) team and program staff in integrating a Collaborating, Learning, and Adapting (CLA) Stakeholder Engagement & Partnership approach into community-level program activities;
  • Collaborate with the TRACE Communications Specialist to find and post relevant resources and events on the planned TRACE Facebook page;
  • Conduct technical research and improvement of methodologies, as needed.

As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the position holder may be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key duties.

Duration:

initial 12 month contract (CDD), extendable for up to 5 years, with start date mid-November

Critères d'éligibilité

  • BS/BA or its international equivalent in International relations, Humanities, Economics, Marketing, social entrepreneurship, or a related field; Master's Degree preferred;
  • A minimum of 5 years’ professional experience with at least 3 years in a senior technical role on donor-funded programs related to building Public Private partnerships, social entrepreneurship, community development, youth engagement, local governance, or civil society strengthening projects;
  • Experience with USAID rules and regulations and experience working in an international NGO environment highly desirable;
  • Familiarity with CSRs, Private- Public Partnerships approaches;
  • Strong understanding of the business climate, political and social context in Tunisia; and
  • Fluent in written and oral Arabic, English, and French.
  • Cultural sensitivity and strong interest in dialogue, peacebuilding and conflict transformation.
  • Excellent coordination, communication (verbal and written) and networking skills;
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, creativity, and enthusiasm while working in a fast-paced, often challenging environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work through stringent deadlines with attention to detail, and coordinate and compile information from various sources.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and work independently;
  • Flexibility and capacity to adapt to evolving contexts.
  • Team spirit and ability to collaborate with colleagues in an open and constructive way.
