Search in Tunisia

SFCG’s mission in Tunisia is to promote the culture of dialogue and diversity through the involvement of all parts of society while building their capacities. SFCG works in Tunisia to help members of Tunisian society to address conflicts and differences constructively through cooperation and dialogue. SFCG-Tunisia works across multiple channels, mainly with youth, CSOs, media actors, security forces, and local authorities to build the capacity of individuals and institutions to address challenges including differences and acting on common points. Through this approach and partnerships, SFCG-Tunisia has four main strategic objectives: (i) Promoting Peace Education; (ii) Fostering non-violent social dialogue; (iii) Enhancing participatory and inclusive governance; and (vi) Transforming Violent Extremism in Tunisia. We are searching for…

Search-Tunisia is looking to recruit a Media and Social Media Technical Support for a new, exciting project that leverages mass media to promote democratic consolidation and youth leadership. Search strongly believes that fostering youth engagement in the political sphere holds the potential to develop a lifelong engagement in the democratic process and sustain Tunisia’s democratic transition. Based on this belief, Search and its production partner Ma’an network will produce a reality television program to increase young women and men’s interest in constructively participating in politics, peacefully engaging with their national and local governments, and improving mutual understanding and trust, ultimately contributing to higher youth turnout in the 2019 elections in Tunisia.

Your contribution

The Media and Social Media Technical Support will provide both Video Making and graphic design support to our media operations primarily for social media production by following closely the Executive Producer in day-to-day activities regarding content production tasks. He/She will be technically supervised by SFCG Media Officer and Managed by the Project Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Content creation

  • Assist in designing and implementing new communication plans for the project and develop new project promotion and visibility initiatives, in line with our global marketing and branding strategy
  • Produce videos with basic motion graphics for social media use.
  • Produce infographics for Social media use.
  • Document team’s work in photo-video format.
  • Assist Media Officer in producing success stories.
  • Collaborate with the Team to produce Social media content.
  • Adapt content to different social media platforms.
  • Liaise with Production Coordinator to prepare logistics for Media & Production activities.
  • Co-manage the social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube) of the project.
  • Coordinate closely with team members and partners working on the project to develop appropriate
  • Participate in the design and development of the social media component in the Project.
  • Ensuring and managing the information security and confidentiality aspects of the content as well as the intellectual property rights of the content and product of SFCG
  • Watch over the current media and social media trends and propose amendments accordingly.

Reporting

  • Produce all required media content in line with the organizational policies a submit to media and social media content specialist ,Search Media officer and Project Manager.

Learning

  • Actively participate in quarterly reflection meetings with SFCG staff and program team to analyze monitoring findings and contextual updates and adapt programmatic approaches to maximize project’s results.
  • Contribute to institutional learning by participating in documentation of lessons learnt

Do No Harm

  • Ensure that all data collection respects DNH principles when collecting data or interviewing project participants.
  • Protect the confidentiality of the participant information.

Others

  • Perform any other media content creation tasks as requested by the Search Media Officer and Project manager.

Duration:

4 -month contract (CDD), with a start date before the end of July, 2019

Critères d'éligibilité

  • Relevant higher education degree in media, journalism or any other related field
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in content productions
  • Interest in peacebuilding and conflict transformation
  • Demonstrated experience working with local partners
  • Good content production skills
  • Good storytelling skills
  • Good social media management skills
  • Good video editing skills (Final cut pro X /Adobe premiere pro)
  • Good graphic design skills
  • Good camera operating skills
  • Ability to manage relationships – able to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people
  • Works cooperatively with others to be part of a team; values individual differences and demonstrates a commitment to knowledge sharing and informal learning, for the benefit of the team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent written and oral Arabic and English and/or French
  • Strong interest in conflict prevention and peacebuilding
  • Creative and organized
